he snaps, yanking James by the hair as they head outside, their voices fading into the distance.
"Ahhhh, you idiot!" James yells, and I can’t help but scoff. The room falls silent, and I realise he probably needs a reason to escape from me. A small, sad smile appears on my face; it feels like he doesn’t love me anymore, just sees me as a burden that stresses him out. I close my eyes, feeling the hurt of his indifference. "Are you okay?" my mom asks, and I nod. "Just tired," I reply.
