The Bet

The Bet

She turned on her heel and walked briskly towards the Royal Bridge. The weather conditions were perfect for wandering around the city; the morning was quite cool, and fresh, and the sky was almost cloudless. It was going to be a beautiful day. They walked for several hours around Etienne Marcel and Rue Montorgueil. Jo took a lot of pictures, and the boys tried to feast their eyes on the images that were occasionally adorned with Matthew's stories. Finally, they reached Les Halles, one of the places that Jo liked to walk around. “Here was Paris’ central fresh food market. It was demolished in the 70s last century and replaced by what you see now.” Jo explained.

I'm really enjoying the story of Jo and her journey, the novel is so realistic and easy to relate to. I haven't had such a good read in a while, definitely looking forward to reading more on Jo's journey.

Just for two weeks

Sophie took a quick left, and a moment later, Jim realized where they were. Gare Saint-Lazare. Ahead of them, the glass-roofed train terminal resembled the awkward offspring of an airplane hanger and a greenhouse. European train station never slept. Even at this hour, a half-dozen taxis idled near the main entrance. Up ahead in the street, a couple of city policemen stood on the curb giving directions to confused tourists.

"Get me one too Tina, I'll take pink. I'll pay you later." "How you gonna get pink Char? You know that's my favorite color." "Well hell El, put your name on it, you can personalize." "I wonder if Daniel could come up with one that works like Viagra." What the fuck? "Char, you having problems?" "No, but every now and then I want a little extra but my guy is getting up there"

I love this story. I was hooked from the beginning. Fair warning: this story is heavy on passionate hot love scenes but fast paced captivating emotional possessive protective but balanced with hilarious banter between the family and friends. You will definitely fall in love with the characters. ...

This book is heavy on the passion so be warned. The controlling nature of the ML is a bit much but the danger is intense as well. With the danger and the intense and plentiful love scenes, there is a nice balance of humor and very compelling supporting characters to keep you reading without breaks
