In a reflex, she reached out and caught Abigail’s small body just before her face could hit the ground.
"Are you okay, Little Miss?" Moza asked, breathless, her chest thumping.
Abigail, shocked, hugged Moza tightly, her face pale. Seeing the child still trembling, Moza gently stroked her back to calm her.
"I was scared I’d fall, Auntie," she sobbed. "Papa said I shouldn't ever bleed. It’s dangerous."
"Why not, sweetheart? A small wound is normal for children," Moza asked, puzzled.
Abigail shook her head vigorously, her eyes serious. "Papa said my blood is rare, Auntie. If I bleed, it could be dangerous."
