Pastel Tone

I had been sneaking around behind my brother’s back with Eden Smith, his best friend's brother. He pulled me close by the waist and drove us wild in all kinds of places. I died beneath the Ferris wheel. The killer took a photo of the Ferris wheel and sent it to my mother. 'Mom, I want to ride the Ferris wheel with you too,' wrote the killer. In my mother's voice message, her tone was filled with hatred as she replied, "How dare you ask to ride the Ferris wheel with me when you killed your own sister? Why won't you just die?!" As she wished, I was dead. However, what she didn't know was that the one who killed me was my so-called dead sister.

I was in San Aria Bay with my mom, enjoying a quiet, sunlit getaway, when my phone suddenly lit up with a string of messages from my husband's ever-arrogant secretary. She sent a photo. A tear rolled down from one of her eye and her lip quivered as she tightly gripped the bed sheet. “See, I got you exactly where I want you… that is underneath me.” Saying in his dangerous tone, he lifts her one leg and positioned himself. With a forceful thrust he enters inside and she screams out in pain.

"System, I want to go home." The system responds to Tabitha Samson immediately. "Understood, Tabitha. Exit procedures are now activated. You'll be able to leave this world in half a month." Weirdly enough, the system, which has always followed its own programming, pauses for a few seconds. It soon brings up a question, its tone slightly confused. "You have a husband who dotes on you and a son who always takes your side, Tabitha. Isn't this your home? These people are your family, you know." The moment Tabitha hears the word "family", her gaze slowly fixes on the TV before her.

"Mom, help! Dad locked me in the car!" It was 2:00 pm in the blazing heat of a summer afternoon, and my heart stopped when I heard my daughter's panicked voice. I immediately began searching for my daughter, but my husband sounded impatient when he answered my call. "Holly's in a bad mood. I'm taking her to the amusement park. Why are you overreacting? She'll be fine." He sounded annoyed and hung up immediately after he was done speaking. The dial tone buzzed in my ear, but all I could think was that he'd better pray nothing happened to her.

“New destiny,” the wind whispered. Instinctively, my wolf leapt forward in protection, growling menacingly. I crouched in front of her, inhaling her sweet scent—the same one that had drawn me to her, the same one that stirred something deep within me, calling to me without a single word. I whispered to the wolf: “So, the rumors were true… Hunter not only kept his daughter as a prisoner but also hunted her.” The tone of my voice sent a pleasant shiver through the air, teasing my own ears. “Tell me, blind wolf, I just killed your father. Do you hate me for it?”
