Penelope Sky Books Novels & Stories

She leans back into the touch without pausing, without looking up, and for one full second the two of them go quiet and soft and so completely married that I have to glance away, like I’ve walked in on something private. Then it’s gone. The hand lifts, the warmth snaps off, and the two of them turn their pale stern eyes back on me in unison, and the temperature drops right back down to stranger. “Now.” Penelope folds her hands on the counter. “The Lycan King’s name buys you my attention, girl. I’ll be very clear that it buys you nothing else. It does not buy you the grade, it does not buy you my goodwill, and it most certainly does not buy you the thing you mean to ask for, because the thing

"Luna is not here right now. Is there something I can assist you with?" Penelope forced a smile. "No, it's alright. I'll just browse around for a bit." Jennie nodded and went back to her work. Penelope continued to wander, her thoughts still a jumble. She wasn't sure why she thought this was the right time to feel the need to find Ana, it's not like she hasn't been trying to. Eventually, she rejoined her friends, who were busy trying on clothes and chatting with the store attendants. Blue was particularly taken with a sleek, emerald-green dress that shimmered under the store's lighting.

I turned toward the window seats, preparing to make my way to my usual spot, when a voice stopped me. “You people must like running your mouths. If you used more of your brain cells than your mouths, the world might actually improve.” Everyone froze. That voice. I turned my head toward the doorway. Penelope leaned against the wall, her black bob tucked behind one ear. A small tattoo peeked out from her neck, and another curled around her wrist. She wore a cropped white top, tiny black shorts, and a bomber jacket. Her arms were crossed, and the look in her eyes could’ve set someone on fire.

Anya snuggled into her, her small body warm against Penelope’s side. As Penelope read, Anya listened with rapt attention, occasionally letting out little gasps of excitement or giggles at funny parts. As the story progressed, however, her blinks became slower, her breaths softer. By the time Penelope reached the last page, Anya had completely drifted off, her tiny fingers clutching the edge of the blanket. Penelope carefully tucked her in, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. “Sweet dreams, little one,” she whispered. She got up quietly, turning off the lamp before stepping out of the room. Once she was in the living room, she let out a deep breath, stretching slightly. She glanced at her p

It's beautiful. Students move across the grounds in clusters, some already in uniform, others dragging bags behind them. And everywhere— Beasts. Not just one kind. Dozens. I have only read about the beasts and bonds. Old books with outdated photos. Skyless Keep, the prison I once called home, had a small library with about 12 beat up history books. They only allowed books regarding Elarion, Nythera, and Solvaris. I read them until the words were permanently etched into my brain. Suddenly, I'm ripped from my thoughts. I'm surrounded my beasts and magic and students everywhere. While I thought I would be afraid to see the beasts so close, I'm actually in awe.

'I think something happened. 'Yes,' Lihua said. 'I noticed.' She crossed the room and crouched in front of the girl. 'Tell me what you feel.' 'Like the ceiling is gone,' Ruoxuan said. 'Like I have been living in a room my whole life and someone just took the roof off and there is just — sky up there. More sky than I knew existed.' She looked at her hands. 'I advanced. Did I advance?' 'You broke through to Foundation Establishment,' Lihua said. 'Fully. Cleanly.'

Talking was the last thing I wanted to do, so I spun on my heel to leave. Jeannie, though, put on her best damsel-in-distress look and blocked my path. "Noelle, my little pup I've had since it was just a ball of fluff, died yesterday. It was like family. I was so heartbroken, I had to call Elias. He's just here to help me say goodbye to it, don't hold it against him." I could see through Jeannie's performance like glass. I never called her out before, out of respect for her job at Elias's place. However, I was out of patience. "What do you expect me to do, light candles?"

We say our goodbyes and I toss my phone onto the couch next to me, looking around the room. It's quiet when Santos has the kids. Almost too quiet. And there's nothing to do. I've deep cleaned the entire apartment from top to bottom. I've done four loads of laundry and put it all away. I even threw dinner in the crockpot already, so my regular chores are done. I tap my fingers on my leg and the Kindle shoved between couch cushions catches my eye. Ooh. I could read for a bit. What is the name of that author I like? The one who writes about all those bearded brothers? Penelope Reads? Penny Reads? Penny Reid! That's it!

Arianne's pov After I send off Deacon, Mico and Trent at the airport for their flight, I decided to hit the mall. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to such place. I randomly look and bought some outfits that I will surely need for the future. I mean I’m planning to go to uni again so at least I needed some more decent outfits. After I’m done shopping, I excitedly look for a restaurant to have dinner. Few minutes later I enter an Italian resto, I took a table on the corner and ordered my all-time favorite, spaghetti bolognese. And when my food arrives, I happily dig into it.

I can't seem to think past the ache in-between my legs, talk less of forming coherent sentences. Images of him pinning me to this very wall, tearing my clothes off and pounding into me in the most feral way possible fill my head till they're all I can think about. But the asshole steps away, a smirk on his face. One that I'm sure will haunt my sleep tonight. “So, Little Trouble,” he begins. " I'll have you understand the full story behind the curse that's on our bond." He fishes a huge dusty book from the cupboard and places it on the table.
