Percy leans forward as he gestures to the menu with one hand, the other resting casually on the table.
“You know, Lyssa, I’ve got this all figured out,” he says, his voice teasing. “Your favorites, right? The grilled salmon with that lemon sauce you mentioned last time, and the vegetables on the side. And for dessert, don’t even argue. I’m ordering the chocolate lava cake. But wait, have I told you about the time I tried to bake one myself?”
I force a small smile, getting comfortable with him again. “No, you haven’t. Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.”
