Just as the tension in the room reached its peak, Percy suddenly laughed. A smirk of pure disdain spread across his face as he sneered. "Whatever." He didn’t believe Xavier for a second. A man who had only made it this far because of him? No way did he have the guts. Without another word, he turned and walked away. Chris quickly followed, scoffing at Xavier on his way out. "Let’s see how well you do without Percy backing you. Good luck finding work on your own." With that, he hurried after Percy, his tone shifting to a sickly-sweet eagerness as he tried to appease him.

Harvey then said calmly, “While you’re at it, tell everyone about the things she did with her godfather. Remember, I want the truth.” All the idolizers groveled in agreement after hearing his words. Percy constantly trembled, then sat on the ground paralyzed. He knew that he was done for.

Trees blurred past him as he ran, his powerful legs propelling him forward. Emma’s face filled his mind, her laughter, her smile, and the way she made him feel whole. I spat. When he returned my gaze, his eyes were bloodshot. He crumpled the plastic cup in his hand and slowly walked towards me but stopped when someone put an arm around my shoulders. “Problem?” I raised an eyebrow at Percival, who was sitting next to me. “Percival, bro!” His expression immediately shifts from angry to worried. “Percival, bro?” Percival chuckled sarcastically, “Dude, fuck off.” The man raised both of his hands and slowly backed away. He ran down the stairs. Percival and I were left in a slightly dark hallway.

Grover immediately got off his seat changing his stance. "Ah, sunny day out!" He said. "Certainly a beautiful day for an auction. Don't you think Grover?" "Of course sir, starting with the house pets." Grover laughed at his own joke, scratching his scruffy beard. "Not quite sure about this one... she still needs to be taught a lesson before leaving for horror. I reckon Perkins was in search of a new maid if you know what I mean." Grover then let out a forced. "Yes, yes.. I'm afraid they never last a month before they get buried. I suppose that is just a rumor."

Snow blanketed the landscape. We stopped before a solitary grave. Percy stepped out first, then came around to help me, his hand steadying me as my feet met the frozen ground. The headstone was simple, weathered by time and snow, the name carved into it worn but still legible. I read it twice before it fully sank in. “This is my father,” Percy said. I turned to him. “He was a healer in our pack,” he continued. “One of the best.” “He believed,” Percy said, his gaze fixed on the grave, “that everyone could be saved. That pain was something to be treated.”

Percy steps in, flanked by three broad-shouldered men in dark suits. Mrs. Hargrove walks behind him. “This is Mr. Percy Hawthorne, son of one of our founding fathers. He’s here to welcome new students personally sometimes.” Percy smiles faintly, his eyes locked on mine. “Pleasure to see you.” He says. As Mrs. Hargrove excuses herself. I glare at him. “What are you doing here? This is insane.” He shrugs, stepping closer. “Just checking on a promising student. Imperial’s lucky to have you.”

All of Hollowlight Sect's apprentices were killed, including Percy himself. Percy grabbed her shoulders tightly. His voice trembled with urgency and rage. "Mr. Granger? What happened to him? When Hollowlight Sect was ambushed, I remember the entire sect being wiped out and all the apprentices being killed. What happened to Mr. Granger?" Percy didn't dare imagine the worst outcome. Thayne was the person he respected most in his life. He was immensely powerful, yet deeply compassionate. He raised all seven of them himself, training them and teaching them how to live with decency and integrity.
