Teleportation, offensive spells, and reality-altering magic are forbidden. Overuse initiates temporary mana freeze. Penalties: minor infractions, two minutes; major infractions, five minutes plus a point deduction; severe infractions, ejection and review.

I positioned myself near Ken and deliberately failed a defensive spell. “Could you help me?” I asked sweetly. He adjusted my stance without meeting my eyes. “Keep your elbow higher. Your center is off.” “That’s it?” I tried to continue. Without saying anything else, he walked away. Every time I moved closer, he moved farther. Then I found Percy in the greenhouse. He was tending to glowing plants, looking really focused on them. I walked toward him. “They’re beautiful,” I said. “What are they?” “Moonvine,” he replied calmly. “They’re good for stabilizing volatile magic.”

“Oren made a deep humph sound and reined his horse to move toward a boulder lodged in between two trees. “This way.” “What was that noise you made for?” “We are right over what is known as a perpetual Earth Node, a place of magical power that is stationary. Most Earth Nodes are mobile, moving with the natural processes of the Earth, but there are some like this one that remains fixed.” “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” She said, “it’s all nonsense to me.”

She won't dare to make Leviathan angry. Principal Jamison paced back and forth lecturing me about using my magic on other students... I didn't do anything other than mess with her hair! He had talked to the principal, and after taking several tests, I was permitted to finish my senior year as though I hadn't been in an enchanted sleep for the past two years. It was weird. So weird, but I promised him, and I was trying to enjoy life at Salem Academy and all that entailed. When I was with Silindra, Professor Pops decided to make the Seven Magics Academy and official school and had invited a select few supernaturals to participate. Several were witches, and one was a gargoyle while another was half-dragon. Classes were currently being held in Pops' basement. I want to incorporate that, but maybe add something else. “Your magic was deep forest green yesterday, baby.” Liam says, again reading my mind. “How about we do deep green and silver?” I ask, and Cianna makes a note on her notepad.

He didn’t blink. “You don’t.” The next thing I knew, he was turned toward the door. “Where are you going?” “To prep for our next performance. You have a family to face. And, please, do have a bath.
