I fell to the floor in tears and he rushed to me, wrapping his arms around me and cradling me as I sobbed into his chest, gripping onto his shirt. Peter stayed there on the ground with me until I could pull myself together and finally speak. When I pulled myself away from him, I could see his white shirt was drenched from all of my tears and crinkled where I had been holding onto him. He wiped away my tears with his thumb and looked at me with the most caring, concerned, deep blue eyes I had ever seen before. I finally answered his question, "She wants to end her life." His eyebrows furrowed and his jaw clenched for a moment from shock.

“Your face said it, I’ve seen that look before, the ‘oh, that’s your name?’ look.” “I—I wasn’t making a face!” she protested, but her grin betrayed her. “Sure you weren’t,” he shot back, leaning just slightly closer. "I wasn't!" She squealed, "I was just picturing you as Peter Parker," she joked with a laugh. "Peter Parker?" He asked, confused. "Yes, Peter Parker, you don't know him?" The look on his face answered it. "Are you for real right now? You don't the Peter Parker?"

"I'm an idiot." I couldn't stop. I felt like a wounded pup, my shoulders shaking. Peter pulled out a clean silk handkerchief and began to dab at my eyes. "Don't cry. How about I splash myself with coffee so you can yell at me? Would that help?" I let out a wet, tiny laugh. "I-I’m not crying because of you." Peter’s eyes narrowed, a fierce spark in the silver depths. "Good. Then who did this? Give me a name, and I will handle it personally."

Why did he lie about Peter being upset and not joining in on the celebration? As Peter stirred and regained consciousness, his eyes fluttering open, I held my breath, waiting for him to speak.
