Casey P.O.V. As I burst out of the stadium, the cool night air rushed against my skin, but I barely felt it. My heart was pounding as I pulled out my phone and quickly dialed Owen’s number. The line rang once. Twice. I pulled the phone away from my ear, staring at the screen in frustration. The call failed. Frowning, I tried again, but the same thing happened. A wave of unease crawled up my spine. I had just admitted to Zazu that I loved Owen, that I wanted to fight for him. But what if it was too late?

He finally stopped and turned to her with a stormy expression. “I look away for one moment, and you’re already flirting with someone else?” he said angrily. She frowned at him. “What are you talking about?” she asked, confused. “I was just talking to Doc Blaze.”

How could you possibly have hatched a Phoenix? Did you steal my Phoenix egg?” Celeste cried out, rushing towards me in an attempt to snatch the child from my arms. Lucian stepped in front of me, blocking Celeste’s way. “Are you out of your mind? The Phoenix recognizes its true parents. If Princess Aurelia had stolen your egg, the Phoenix wouldn’t have acknowledged her after it hatched.”

Especially ones that smell like cheap vodka and regret" ​"You don't know anything about me," I muttered, closing my eyes. "You think you have it all figured out. The gold-digger’s daughter. The 'Princess.' You don't know what I lost"

I got in the back, laying on the seats like I belonged there because I do. The future Alpha doesn't drive himself. The engine started, smooth like a cat and we drove out. The windows were down, and the morning air rushed in. Jaxon leaned out the window, whistling at a group of witches. “Looking good, ladies! Put a spell on me anytime!” The girls giggled, but they didn't look mad. Witches like attention, especially from wolves with status. Dante was just as bad, smiling at a couple of vampires.

(Five years later) Lyra’s POV I leaned against the dark tinted window of my limousine as it drove past the City. My reflection stared back at me, my face covered with a Phoenix shaped mask that only allowed my eyes and mouth to be seen, it was my Trademark. The world now knew me as The Phoenix, the name wasn't just branding. It was my story. I had risen from destruction, rebuilt by hands that should never have held me together, and now the very fire that consumed me was now my fuel and weapon.

Luna begged her twin sister. Mara shook her head and opened her palm "I was injured while fighting him. They will follow us no matter what we do running. So run away Luna. At least one of us will survive. "This is not the time for that! We have to run while there is still time" Luna was wailing and begging but Mara was ready to sacrifice herself.
