CHAPTER FIFTY-SEVEN MALAKAI Trigger warning: This chapter contains depictions of violence, readers discretion is advised. * * It is difficult to escape the darkness, but it only takes a second to be drawn back into it, and you are buried deeper than you can imagine. I hiss at Pierce in betrayal; how many times will I realize that there is nothing scarier than the person who put me in this situation? Pierce knows of my nightmares. Still, he drags me into it, blocking every escape route as he stands behind me, his heavy hands clenching on my shoulders like red hot steel.

I shouted, my voice imbued with the raw force of a goddess’ fury. Light exploded from my palm, ripping through the shadows, sending them scattering. It crackled and burned like the sun at its peak, and for the first time since Zerathos had descended upon us, the shadows recoiled. Lyra’s body spasmed as the dark magic within her writhed, but I kept pushing. “You are Lyra! You are not this! You will fight! You will fight!” And then, with one final, terrible scream, Lyra’s body arched violently, as if something tore free from her soul. A shadow, a grotesque cloud of darkness, leapt from her and vanished into the air like smoke.

“Perhaps it’s too late already?” Lucifer draws himself nearer, the pungent smell of burning filled my nose, “Tell me Princess of St Leger, how many people have you killed already with your power?” He pauses once more, leaning so close now that the heat from his breath warms my cheek. “How many people reside on your list to dispatch already I wonder? I predict that the seed of darkness has already been sewn. “And it is a well known fact that the St Leger power feeds off of darkness.” He finishes. The room falling into silence around us.

At night, Jennifer was about to fall asleep when a black shadow appeared very quickly at the window and then disappeared, she was startled to sit up to see clearly, but that black shadow had disappeared. Jennifer curiously did not know what it was, she groped and followed. Arriving in a room, Jennifer finally caught up with that black shadow, she panicked when she saw that the lightbulb was a sealed person, still holding a gun. Jennifer covered her mouth, trying not to let out a frightened cry. Isn't there a lot of people guarding the outside, how could this person infiltrate all the way here. So what was that person's purpose, Jennifer could assert, whatever the purpose, it was not very goo

Taking the subtle route was going to fail me in a matter of seconds. "That is Zhara Shunah, you fucking idiots!" Upon hearing the men behind me, I ripped into the abyss. Black daggers flung themselves through the gate and impaled two of the three men. Where they were clad in armour, my shadows curled and dissipated. But their throats were still exposed. The tall man watched in horror as his two companions gurgled on their own blood, but I didn't have enough time to watch them bleed.

As Tamayo got up, he growled menacingly, “Impossible! How could a beginner at the energy stage like you defeat me? You must’ve played a dirty trick!” Yuri spat, “Do I have to when you are my target? You’re overestimating yourself! You lost. Now, piss off!” Tamayo’s gaze was vicious as he kept his eyes on Yuri. Suddenly, he flicked his palm and something black shot out toward Yuri. Kayson narrowed his eyes and sent a silver needle to pierce the inky item. Alarmed, Yuri looked at the black pill on the floor and asked angrily, “What is this?!”

Obviously, Yi Yeqiu from the Dark Shadow Hall killed all of them, by using his unique skill "Fatal-thrust." By using the Fatal-thrust, Yi Yeqiu could shoot a stream of Sword Qi to his enemy's head at the moment when he launched his sword attack. The Sword Qi would enter the body through the neck, which could instantly smash the enemy's soul. Meanwhile, the Mystic Power in this attack could immediately make the enemy's heart stop beating, so the blood of the enemy would freeze right before he or she died. Hence, not much blood would spill.

An uneasy feeling sweeps over me as I peer back down at my bonetta. “NOW!!” Beard bellows, and his voice rumbles through the palace. I snap my head up, watching in slow motion as he removes the Dagger of Eternal Death from the inside of his boot. He raises his arm and drives it straight into the Dark Oracles' heart. Tyber and Jaja both let a roar rip from their throats as they leave my side and rush for Beard. As a black light rips her chest wide apart, the Dark Oracle cries in anguish, sorrow, and despair. Beard yanks the blade out of her chest and raises it above his head as he faces us. His soulless eyes darken to the severity of an eclipsing moon.

Damon was hitting him continuously and man almost bled to the death. "Damn, man... you are really stubborn..." He chuckled while tossing the stick away and sitting on the chair while panting. "We'll continue again after my break but till then my friends will take care of you." The man was literally skinned alive. Yang nodded at Damon and opened the box. Yibo started screaming when rats climbed on his body hungrily. Mira closed her eyes and turned around as she felt her lunch coming back to her throat. She ran out and gasped for the fresh air.

" Her face twisted in disbelief, and I felt the magic strike deeper at that moment of distraction. The light coiled around her, illuminating her in a vivid glow before it began to consume the shadows she had wielded for so long. "No!" she screeched, the desperation in her voice echoing through the clearing. The followers pooled around me, emboldened by my words, and with one synchronized shout, we channelled our energy forward, willing the light to engulf her. In an explosion of luminescence, the darkness that had long twisted Yelda faded into the ether with a furious wail, and the clearing fell silent. I held my breath, feeling the tumultuous power dissipate like smoke on the wind.
