( Charlotte’s POV ) "How are you feeling sweet pea?" Maddox asks. He scrubs my head with shampoo, while I peacefully relax at the tub. I've been sick for a week. Maddox drove me to the hospital last Tuesday. I have pneumonia and I'm not at all delighted about it. "I feel like shit," I reply with a hoarse tone. "Look at me, I don't look like shit anymore...I'm a walking zombie." I cough a few times, not caring that Maddox is there. He won't get infected anyways.

But I nodded anyway, urging him to continue. "He is uh..." He paused then, swallowing hard; a clear sign that whatever he wanted to say next was pretty hard for him. "Well, he's sick. Actually, he's been sick for a long time now, but he's been managing it well. But now, things are out of control, and it's pretty serious."

As I teetered on the brink of unconsciousness from the pain, someone finally arrived. It was Felix. He stood frozen, his face pale with fury as he took in the chaos around him. "What the hell are you doing? Who gave you permission to come here?"

Mikali frowned and removed his hand. “What was that about?” I asked, nodding to her neck. “Oh… well, my power detected damage to her vocal cords. But it results from a medical condition long ago, so my power can’t heal it.” Mikali explained. Shikoba blinked and touched her jaw before typing quickly on her phone. “How…how did you do that? And, um, yes. I was sick when I was thirteen, and it did a number on my larynx resulting in my muteness.” She explained.

The other two will undergo a surgery tomorrow. “Peachy.” I walked towards Peachy and inserted my hand through the gap of the cage. She closed her eyes when my hand touched her head. I gently pet her. Peachy has a hernia and her owners have decided to remove it. “Do you feel okay, little girl?” Peachy just made a cute sound which made me giggle. Oh, this pug is such a cutie! I turned to Hachiko, the husky, who has a heart defect. Every time he gets too excited, he faints.

It's been weeks since Rosella started showing signs of sickness. Her usually glowing skin has become pale and lifeless, and her once shining hair is now dry and brittle. She barely eats, and when she does, she throws up almost immediately. I've tried everything within my power to help her. I've hired healers from different packs and even sought help from the witches in the neighboring city, but I need something to work. Everything was making it worse, and no sign of progress was even worsening. It’s getting hard not to lose hope at this point.

After not getting sick for thirty minutes, I decided to call my dad to see what my problem was. “Hello.” Dad said answering the phone. “Hey dad, it’s me”. “Oh hey, how do you like the new school so far”? “It’s alright, don’t really know haven’t started classes yet. But I called you because I am puking my guts off all morning and werewolves don’t get sick. Is something wrong with me?” I asked in a concerned voice. “Um, the only time a werewolf gets sick is if their mate is mad at them.”

"You didn't know? He has coccidiosis disease. And I found out that he treated it, but lately, it seems that he is not taking his medications properly." Only then did Marisol remember when Chardon was first hospitalized. "Aside from that...." The doctor continued. "T-there's more?" Marisol caught on surprise "Yes.
