“Go for it.” She fiddled with her pen, not meeting my eyes at first. “I’m… still confused. About, you know. She hid behind sarcasm and that tough-girl shield, so the fact that she was spilling this much meant it was eating at her.

I'd only heard her in the apartment once while I was studying in December, but Mark managed to get rid of her quickly. She enters the kitchen with her entourage, three other girls who all resemble Piper, from their fake eyelashes to their outfits. They were not filled with any remorse at all because they now had time to bask themselves without being worried about any projects. Piper’s lips part, her face pale as she stares back at us. “What?” Piper’s voice is small, almost childlike. Her eyes widen before a choked laugh slips out. “No, that’s—Sadie, you can’t just say something like that.” Her voice cracks, rising higher with every word. “You can’t—” I whip my head toward Sadie. She remains quiet, her face pale, shoulders trembling, and eyes locked on Piper with certainty. Terrifying, immovable certainty. “I’m not… I can’t be. That’s not—” Piper continues, her hands fluttering near her stomach as though the gesture alone could prove Sadie wrong.

This apartment has a garden in the center of the building and they equipped the garden with a fishpond, so the air around here feels cool. I finally arrived at the door of Piper’s apartment unit. I pressed the doorbell a few times. “Yes, wait a minute,” a woman said from inside. It seemed to be Piper’s voice. After the door opened, I saw Piper standing in front of me wearing pajamas and house slippers. She left her hair down with a plain face with no makeup. Without makeup and wearing only pajamas, she still looks cute. “Please come in, sir,” she said as she opened the door wider and let me in.

Here don't worry it's clean" he says sitting back holding a pink dummy in his hand, I take it from him putting into her mouth which slowly makes her calm down.

Then, she would come home to cook him a huge spread. Even though we could never finish everything, she would still make tons of food every time. She was terrified of letting her precious son-in-law go hungry. As usual, my mom had prepared a table full of seafood that day, and Lucian was cracking a crab when his phone rang. She looked straight at Rollins. “I, Piper Moore, accept your rejection, Rollins Lancaster of Crescent Moon, with the Moon Goddess as my witness.” Rollins’ breath hitched. “No, Piper, wait—” But it was too late. “All right, buddy,” one guard said as they seized him firmly. “Time to go.”

I said, looking over at her and smiling. “Thank you girl,” she said as she sniffed. “I....really...,” she hesitated. “I know,” I interrupted her. “I got you.” Poppie smiled a weak smile. She was almost 100% but not quite there yet. I wanted her to be at her best because I knew she would do well. “Thanks,” “You hungry?” I asked. “Yeah,” she responded questionably. “You wanna smoke?” I asked, passing her the blunt I had rolled on the table. “It might help with your appetite.”
