People like you don’t just show up every day.” His words made my stomach flutter, though I couldn’t tell if it was from flattery or nerves. “I appreciate your help” I said cautiously, “But I am still not sure why you’re doing this.” He stopped walking and turned to face me. His expression looked more serious now.
