“I asked him to fly over the bay and spy upon the ships. He says there are five ships anchored, one he thinks is a pirate.”
“Pirate,” I repeated, fascinated.
“We shall see,” Rivyn was thoughtful. “A pirate would be perfect.”
“A pirate perfect?” I turned in the saddle to look at him.
He laughed at the expression on my face. “Yes, dear wife. They are more likely to take risks, will not have a set route they travel, and will be hungrier for coin. They’re not more or less trustworthy than a normal ship hire - any crew is just as likely to try to tip you into the ocean if they think you have something of value to them.”
