Or are you just going to like, tear him limb from limb –“

“The rogue we managed to capture said something similar.” Sal's eyes went wide. “You guys captured a rogue? That's sick!” A moment of excitement crossed her gaze before she went serious and cleared her throat. “Okay so back to what I was saying, the rogues are essentially mercenaries sent here by someone from another pack. There was a man in charge of these mercenaries, he goes by the name Grog—” “Grog?” Kaiden said, looking pointedly at Bradford, who also had a similar look of surprise on his face.

Though he could understand her decision was fueled by the anger of losing a mother, she didn't have what it took to defeat a being as powerful as the Phantom. “No one can!” He whispered with his head buried to the ground in his pain and agony. His hands never remained calm, and his wounds were deeply hurting, with blood gushing out profusely. “What do you mean?” She cleaned off the mucus drooling from her nostrils and stood up, pushing her mother's lifeless body away from her. “This is a curse, Mila! Upon every one of us in this pack.”, he stressed as he grinned the words out of his mouth, hissing at the slight pain he felt around his body as he stood up from the ground.

If I weren’t being dragged into this nightmare, I might have admired it. When the car stopped, Roger stepped out without a word. He adjusted his jacket lazily but somehow with elegance and finally gestured for me to follow. Him. I hesitated. “I am not some dog! I am not your pet!” Roger looked at me with a blank face. Like the very second we'd met. He didn't betray any emotion. He just looked bored. Like he was used to dealing with people like me. Or maybe he was. After all, Regina had mentioned that he bought slaves. Pregnant slaves.

The rest of the evening was more casual. We all hung out and got to know each other a little better. The two other rogues present were Darius and Paula. Darius has been a rogue for 5 months, but he’s been here for about two weeks now, and he’s almost ready to join the pack. Paula is newer like me. She’s only been a rogue for 3 months, and she got here 8 days ago, but she already seems pretty comfortable.

Kylian’s POV “Mr. K, are you sure you want to attend Princess Della’s inauguration dinner in Wakeland?” Roger tried to clarify. The monotonous voice of a warrior echoed from the other end of the call. Swiveling my chair away from my window, I smiled with confidence. “Of course.” I’ve never been more sure in my life. Roger was one of the great warriors whom I encountered at one battle I’ve been in. I saved his life from being a rogue, and in return, he vowed to be my agent even when he only saw my wolf and never my human form.

Roger nodded excitedly, his eyes going to Serena. "Serena, you've heard it, this Mr. Roy of ours is a big rich businessman, if you follow him, you'll be able to eat fragrant food and drink spicy food in the future." Serena raised her eyebrows and deliberately ruffled her hair, "Is it hard to believe that Mr. Roy is going to be here? I don't even know how many women Mr. Roger has brought back, looking at you Mr. Roy, you look like a decent man, you can't afford to pay for the hotel, right?"

“Sir… the port’s CCTV footage shows Mrs. Sara being dragged into that very ship. It seems—” The door slammed open, cutting him off. Roger strode in uninvited. His face twisted into a sickening smirk as he stopped before Damon’s desk. “I heard your little wife was kidnapped? And just now, our cargo ship, which those intruders hijacked, exploded in the middle of the ocean.” Roger blatantly displayed his joy at his adoptive brother’s defeat. “What a pity… my little brother, who hasn't been married long, is suddenly a widower.”

“You slept for so long that I began to worry you would never wake up.” “How long was it?” I rasp, my voice hoarse from a combination of disuse and lack of water. “Five days,” the man responds. “Who are you?” I interrupt before he can continue. “Ah. Of course. Where are my manners? I forgot to introduce myself. I am Clay Denvo. The king of the rogues,” he says as he gestures widely with his arms. “I didn’t know that the rogues have a leader,” I respond coolly.

He was a good dad. Cromwell's are descended from the great king of rogues... Marcus Cromwell. He was vicious like all rogues are. He invaded packs and converted them to the nomad lifestyle. There was no home or territory for rogues. That kind of life wasn't what my father wanted. He gave up the crown when he came of age. Even though it was his birthright. He wanted a home and a mate.
