After dropping him off, we arrived at Hank's mansion, and I must admit, it was impressive.

Kendrick said, trying to get Roger to see. Roger put his head down for a second. It looked like he was debating everything Kendrick had said. Chad and Clay even got confused about what was going on. They were waiting to see what would happen too. Clay secretly hoped Roger would change his mind. Clay didn't want to see Kendrick hurt. He didn't really think Roger would hurt him but part of him said that Roger would and could hurt him.Roger took several minutes and then looked up to Kendrick. He gave him somewhat of a smile. “You know you're right. I..I just struggle with changes. If I accept all this then I don't know where my place is in this pack anymore. I think that’s what my problem is.”

Alpha Ben speaks with a deadly softness, but shows no signs of anger, more like he’s bored with the situation and he finds Roger tedious. “Do you hear that my friends, they were never planning on giving us territory or keeping any of the promises made to us when we were invited to come here.” Roger is shouting out now at, I assume, rogue members witnessing the whole event. “Why did they bring us here then, to make us slaves and servants? What would you have me do? Bow down to the untrustworthy alphas or make an example out of their precious females. You decide, I will never take that choice away from you.”

Kaleb is standing on the top of the ring. He is lifting his arms in the air once again and jumps off, landing with his leg squarely across Roger's neck. Roger grabs at his neck in pain and is struggling to breathe. Kaleb lifts Roger off the floor and opens his jaws revealing his large canines and prepares to dig his teeth into Roger's throat, Rogers uses all his strength to push him back and starts swiping his claws at Kaleb, this time his claws scratches his chest causing deep gashes and sending blood spilling onto the white floor. Kaleb starts to swipe back at Roger, drawing more blood. His hits are more powerful than Roger's and he feels every painful strike, sending him to his knees. Rog

My heart is pounding in my ears and I can't even hear my own thoughts clearly. This was a bad idea. A bad idea. "Hunt," I said softly, rubbing my thumb against his hand. "I don't know what to say," he said. "So now you're with the rogues and you believe everything they say." "Hunt, I think they can help me. I'm not saying I believe them. They said they aren't the only rogues in the area. They just stuck together because they are hybrid and they've been kicked out from their old packs."

Roger sat frozen, as if turned to stone. “Roger, who was that? Was it someone who can help us?” Gloria hurried over, her face full of desperate hope. Roger finally snapped back to himself. His bloodshot eyes were filled with shock and the fury of someone who felt stabbed in the back. “What is it? Roger, what’s wrong?” Gloria stared at him in alarm. The look on his face was so savage it was almost frightening. “Felix Gibson!” Roger spat the name out with a roar. “Mr. Gibson? Is he going to help us?” Gloria asked quickly.

She laughed, a few joining in. “Yah; if you go by legends from all our families who kept track, us Rogues were really one big interconnected pack like the rest of ya.” Roland downed another shot, his shoulders relaxing as he became more familiar with me. “That was until a few hundred years ago though.” He grumbled bitterly as a hush fell around the room.

As I walk around the great room, it's obvious that certain packs in particular are missing- the Rogue packs. Instead of having different alphas for every pack, they are all run by a king who calls himself "King of the Rogues." I can't help but roll my eyes, anybody who chooses to go by that name probably has a bigger ego than Caleb. Nobody knows what he looks like since few have ever lived after encountering him, his reputation violent and messy. He never shows up to these events despite receiving the invitations. Most alphas would prefer him as a business partner rather than an enemy.

Such betrayal, but what would you expect from a rogue. Never trust a rogue.

Moving away from Noah and Finn, they slowed down, and I waved them off. “The kids can tell you where to go. I’ll catch up.” “Nate!” Waving behind me, I strode up the guys. “What’s up?” “I think we have an issue.” My eyes narrowed. “What is it?” “We caught some wolves trespassing on the northeast side. We aren’t sure what to do with them. Like they just left their pack.”
