The Billionaire's Second Choice: Running away with his kids.

The Billionaire's Second Choice: Running away with his kids.

He asked but I couldn't give him a clear answer. “So what is phase one?” I asked. “It's right there.” He nudged at the documents in my hands, “read them.” He said. “Understand that, in order for this company to be protected from foes whose desire is to own any control without any one of my blood, the following protocols are to be followed.” I continued reading and was stunned at phase one. “Phase one, make available a building with exact replication of the old one.” I looked up to Edward as I read the codes.

Mia asked. Vaughn turned his gaze toward the pediatric bed in the center of the room. “About Phase Zero.” That term was new. And it clearly wasn’t one they were meant to hear. Damian frowned. “You said Phase Two was global activation.” “Yes,” Vaughn replied. “But you never asked what Phase One or Phase Zero were.” Cole scoffed. “We assumed it was more of your sick experiments.” “Oh, it was much more,” Vaughn whispered. “Phase One tested emotional absorption—the ability for the hive network to learn human emotional patterns. That was Luka’s generation.”

The Honors Class Experiment

William continued, his tone tightening, "this enhancement comes at a cost. It drains the host's vitality and mental energy. "Our simulations suggest that once the host reaches a major goal, such as completing the SAT, the parasite enters a mature stage. At that point, it begins to feed aggressively, consuming the host's remaining cognitive function. The result is rapid brain death."

Alpha's Rejection: My Mate Has A Son

And each time, I could hear in his voice how it seemed as though he wanted to say more, something other than the case we always talked about, but each time I shut the mindlink. I didn't stop working towards the cure either. In fact, my encounter with Alaric that day at the woods made me work smarter. I had designed a cure involving three clinical phases. Phase One was finalized, and I just needed to test it out on a living host of the parasite, but it was proposed to have side effects. Phase Two and Three, however, were still being refined to ensure there were little to no side effects, and to ensure the patient's safety by all means.

Looks like I should get used to them especially if I can pass the last phase. That I'm not sure yet.

Still coming along nicely. The Archie plot has hot a good point. I feel there is more to come with Rain in the story and I like that. It is good to acknowledge the news spread of his accomplishments beating down Archie, but I would shorten the side conversations of the random people.

I'm honestly surprised that this story doesn't have more views and reviews. It's well-written, moves at a relaxing pace and the author did an amazing job with the descriptions. The characters has great depth, personalities that stand out. It is also clean and well-edited.

EVALUATION PHASE II INITIATED. SPECIES TRAJECTORY DIVERGENCE DETECTED. PRIMARY VARIABLE REQUIRED. My pulse spikes. “It wants you,” I say. The partitioned presence hums low. Engagement probability high. Aidan doesn’t look afraid. He looks resolved. “What’s Phase II?” he asks the air. No response. Not from ours. From the gray lattice. The message updates. CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT. LIMITED STAKE SIMULATION. DECLINE OR PARTICIPATE. Matteo’s jaw tightens.
