Play Nice But Win Novels & Stories

“Not throwing the game, if that’s what you’re asking. I’m playing for real.” He grins, leaning back against the seat. “Good. I want a fair win.” I laugh, turning to look at him. “You mean you want to try and get a fair win.” His hand flies to his chest like I just insulted his entire existence. “Excuse me? Try? I don’t try to win, Mercer. I win.” “Right, right,” I nod, pretending to be serious. “Remind me, how many times have you actually beaten me?”

Oaklyn whispered at others as she hurried after me. “Today’s going to be a good day.” *** “Hey, I would win, so don’t bother trying.” A faint, cynical smirk curved his lips. Playing football on the computer, Felix and Noah paid attention, concentrating on it. “I’m still going to try even though you’re better than me in this game.” Noah replied vividly. Not the need to win, but the urge to play the game welled within him. “Welcome then. I’ll gladly kill you. You have only three lives to win this level. You will be promoted or demoted.” Felix reminded Noah and he replied with a shrug.

At first, I took it as a joke, but when I saw his serious face, I had no choice but to raise my right hand and promise to follow the rules of the game. God... No one can take away the joy I feel right now, it's like a dream come true. I don't care if it has an expiration date, enough! I won't torture myself anymore, it's not fair to me or the people around me. If all of this ends, it ends and that's it. I'll have my moment of mourning, and I won't go beyond that, it's okay, I won't kill myself, I would never do that.

If I redraw now he will still win since he has both aces. "You win, Leo!” I said, gulping down the whole content of my drink in my glass. "You played so well, Mason. I'm surprised l won too,” He smiled, looking at me with his bright grey eyes and I smiled back courteously. "It was a fair game,” My father chirped in, “Mason is just timelessly careless and best at losing an opportunity. He had a chance to win the game twice but he couldn't wind up, even when your numbers were doubling down right in his eyes. Tch, such a loser."

he was not a cruel child. He had never once, despite in all the years of being better at things than me, still he didn't deployed that advantage with cruelty. "What," I said. "Next game," he said, "I'll pretend I'm losing." I stared at him. "I'll make it look real," he continued. "Not obvious. I won't just hand you pieces. I'll play badly in ways that look like mistakes anyone could make. You just play the way you were playing in that last game... that last game was actually decent, Theo, you were moving forward more... and between your decent playing and my little mistakes, you'll win." He shrugged.

Even though Austin was gone, Susie could still imagine his teasing tone through the words he wrote. Susie grabbed her head in vexation, but she could not vent her humiliation to anyone. Fortunately, the note also meant that he probably forgave her for what she did yesterday. Just then, Susie received a call from Harvey. "Susie! Log into the game and check out my battle results. I played so well last night! I got MVP ten times in a row!" Harvey's ecstatic voice only riled up Susie even further. She had spent the night getting played by another man, but all Harvey could think about was his game.

He said and I was quite impressed by his determination, at this point there was just sixty seconds left, “Your time's up don't you think you should just give up?” I kept on trading him, “No I won't, real men don't give up” He stick his tongue out and gestured for me to look at the screen, “Noooooo……..!” I yelled as he killed me, “Yessss…!” I won, he dance happily, “Really you know if I hadn't looked away you wouldn't have won” “It doesn't matter cause a win is a win” He laugh

"Perfect." She leaned back into the seat, every line of her body radiating calculated calm. "Remember, Aiden, the most satisfying plays aren't won through brute force. They're won through patience. Let your opponent think they're in control... that they're gaining ground... until you tear down everything they care about." Her eyes returned to the man huddled on the bench. "We apply just enough pressure, bit by bit, 'til something finally... breaks." "Understood, ma'am."

Her father thought her how and she is good at it. Jericho doesn't even know that his girlfriend knows how to play chess. He watched Maria and his old man playing the game. At first, they were both serious about it but later on as the game is becoming too intense, both are doing their best. Luckily Maria gave way and she let the old man win. "Wow, congratulations Sir. You've won," Maria praised the old man. The old man was now smiling and said," You don't need to play if you allow your competitor to win over you. I know that you made me win but it's okay," he tapped Maria's shoulder and started to lead the way to dine table.

I said while looking at them with a horrified look. "Do you want to back out now?" he asked me in his mocking tone. The great interclub winner is backing out because she has to kiss her opponent if he defeats her," he said in a mocking tone, making my blood boil. I knew he was all doing this to make me say yes. I have to play safe and get on his nerves so I can win this match. Fights are not always won by physical strengths but by playing with the opponent's mental strength and it is what he is trying to do. "Ok, I'm in," I said with a smirk. He just grinned listening to me.
