When I was younger, I believed that poor people would have it better in life, because of the movies and drama series I watched where the protagonist is the poor one, while the antagonist is the rich one. But, now that I am older, I realized that the rich people are the ones who will have a life that is easier. Maybe the life of the poor protagonist was better in my eyes because of the fact that it’s fictional. The writers of that drama or movie romanticized the life of the poor people, and made the rich ones’ life seem ugly and bad. It made the younger me become happy that I was poor, when in fact I shouldn’t be happy that my parents decided to create a family without any plans or stable job

It was my first ever book since I downloaded this w******l app, and it has been my favorite ever since. It tells the story of Carter, the son of a poor farmer in the countryside. Because of how penniless they are, they have to sell Carter—who’s an 18 years old that year—to the capital to work as a guard. His change started when the horse cart that brought him and 12 other village kids got ransacked by a goblin. Every single one of them died except Carter who managed to escape into the forest.

They could lose billions of dollars overnight, not like poor people who only lost $10 but complained like they lost half their lives. In my opinion, poor people are spoiled. They do not like to try and always hope for others, only raising their hands. Shame on you!

After a moment of consideration, I popped the marshmallow into my mouth and continued reading. The book Indy gave me was a short romance story. She had said it would be a good place to start. I was beginning to suspect that she had deliberately chosen something that would make my heart explode. It was the classic story of a prince and a pauper. The female lead was poor, kind, and so selfless that it made my stomach hurt sometimes. She helped strangers, fed animals, and forgave people who did not deserve forgive

Maybe that was the thing that was really meant for me. I sit on the rocking chair inside my spacious bedroom while reading a book. Maybe the life of a poor person was more exciting than the life of a wealthy one. It might be the same with the stories about those poor people who worked hard to become rich. They studied hard, did part-time jobs to maintain themselves in school and also help their families. Until someday, they'd become rich and live happily ever after.
