Once again, the finger cracked, and Zack screamed in pain. Lord Raines who was beside him, said, “Young Master, I don't think you should waste your precious time on a worthless little man like him. You better leave this bastard to me, and I'll take him to Mr. Jose's crocodile farm and allow the beasts to tear him to pieces." Upon hearing this, Zack was shocked and exclaimed, “Such a great Mr. Raines, this is all just a misunderstanding. I am a relative of Adam Reinhart." Russell Raines furrowed his brows and asked, "You are a relative of Adam Reinhart?"

"] I heard him say. ["bye."] I answered and then I turned off the phone. I was about to turn the door handle on the bedroom door to enter when I heard the voices of men entering the house. That's why I felt goosebumps, because Zik hadn't come home yet. I slowly went down a few steps on the stairs so I could see the people talking below. I frowned when I saw Zik's friends Kid and Trevor. "Bro! It's your birthday tomorrow! Let's Celebrate!" I heard Kid say.

If he had grown up in a normal family, he would have been a lively and outgoing child, right? A staff member, dressed in a mascot costume and carrying a bundle of balloons, passed by. Elvis walked over, bought a dozen balloons, approached Zack, and gently crouched down. He kindly coaxed, "Young master, which would you like to play? Uncle will go with you." Reluctantly, Zack turned his body around, his eyes faintly filled with tears. Did dad forget that today is his birthday? It seemed that once again, he would be celebrating his birthday alone with Elvis.

I reply with a cocky grin. We cruise to school, talking about last night's party and our plans for the weekend. Xander's new ride still makes quite the impression as we pull into the school parking lot, and we get more looks than usual as we park. As we head through school toward our lockers, I hear someone singing "Happy Birthday." Out of the corner of my eye, I see Zahra. She looks up, and our eyes meet. It hits me then—it’s her birthday. She’s turning 14 today. Shit.!

Zack collected it, his eyes locked on her in a euphoric stare, his smile widening in excitement. "Happy birthday, wifey..."

Max was dumbfounded by my sudden question-answer session, but my interrogation mode forced him to shuffle his memory. “9th November 1998, was Alpha Zuriel’s birthday, Luna. Alpha Zackary had arranged a grand party to celebrate it, but unfortunately, our Pack was attacked by a group of Hunters. They killed Alpha Zackary, his brother and their mates. It was doomsday for our Zellburry Pack.” Max placed his hand on his chest to pay respect to the deceased, a dead pan silence hung in the air after this statement. So, my dad wasn’t alone, he had companions too? Although, he was my dad with whom I spent all my life, but right now, it felt so embarrassing to inquire an outsider about his real identi

I ran to my phone thinking Zack had sent me a birthday I smiled when I realised it was from my best friend Mila. Mila has been the greatest friend of all time. She never missed wishing me a happy birthday no matter when or where. I wasn't used to celebrating my birthday but she made that day special for me. We spend most of the day chatting, gisting, gossiping, spending money, and more. We didn't have to go to any special place to celebrate the birthday. I waited the whole day for Zack's call or even a message but still didn’t see any of it. I was disappointed. Then his call came through telling me to meet him.
