Laying beside her, I opened the book to read her all time favourite story, “The Beauty and The Beast”. “I want to listen the Sleeping Beauty.” She said but her heavy eyes were indicating that she might pass out sooner. “Leah, can I ask you a question about your friend Ace?” I asked her in a hope she could give me a lead.

The boy giggled softly in his sleep, his face serene. “Mum?” he murmured, blinking sleepily at her. “Baby,” She replied, her voice filled with love. Lucien closed the storybook, placing it carefully on the nightstand before looking at his wife and child with an affectionate gaze. “You’re going to keep him up all night.” He chuckled softly.

Luca hesitated, then nodded. Adrian retrieved one of the books from the shelf, a simple, colorful picture book about a little fox who finds a home after a long journey. As he read, his voice steady and soothing, I watched Luca’s expression soften. His tiny hands relaxed their grip on the dinosaur, his eyelids drooping just a bit. But when Adrian closed the book, the calm didn’t last. It started with a whimper. At first, I thought he was just shifting in his sleep, but then the whimper turned into a soft, broken sob. Luca’s little body trembled beneath the blankets, and his breathing grew quick and shallow.

I got her the three piggies story book and began to read it, making the voices, huffing and puffing making her hide behind Zorro sometimes and giggling other times. When the story ended, I told her it's bed time, kissed her cheek, turned the light down before me and Tristan left her room, you'd forget he's there with how little attention she gave him. We moved to my room to spend the rest of the night, we have hardly spent few minutes there before a little someone sneak in my room with her fox stuffy and slip into my lap. "Little bear didn't I say it's bed time?" I ask her, it's ten thirty now, her bedtime was thirty minutes ago.
