It’s the best manual for what girls really like.” I take the book and study the cover. A man is kissing the neck of a woman whose blouse is slightly off her shoulder. “Blah,” I say and toss the book to the side. I actually think I’ve read it before.

Liam read the title of the book as he kept watching me. “I FELL For THE Dark FAE LORD," Liam read the content, and I gasped in shock when he showed me the front cover. That was indeed the title of the book but I didn't know. “ I didn't know you were into romance books," Liam said, the obvious, and I wish the ground swallowed me up right now. Blood drained from my face when Liam suddenly pushed my back against the row of shelves. “I don't read those. I picked that without looking at the book." The words rushed out of my lips, my heart skipping a beat.

Cole knows about the plan because it's a little more intense than usual and we wanted to make sure he was totally okay with it. "You can put your books away now then go down to the subs room to get prepped with Joey," I tell him with a kiss on the cheek. He jumps up and puts all his stationary into his bag then grabs his other bag with his stuff he needs to get prepped for the club. He kisses me goodbye then disappears out of the door. I go upstairs to the bathroom so I can shower and put on my leathers before going to the club.

It was probably one of the contemporary romance books with a weak-ass female lead, a plot lacking storyline, and thousands of sex scenes, yet she seemed to cherish this one book. Suddenly, I became curious about the content of the book, I wanted to know what kind of book this book was, and because of the rough covers and the crisp edges, I could tell she had read it a lot of times. “The first page and you’re already declaring war?” I asked myself as I flipped the book open and read the chapter title. It seemed like I was in for a ride.

Most of them had similar covers, all romance novels with titles that made me blink twice. “You’ve got a collection,” I said, half-impressed and half-shocked. Her cheeks turned crimson, the blush creeping all the way to her ears. She looked like she wanted the floor to swallow her whole.

I wandered aimlessly between the rows of shelves, the soft shuffle of my shoes the only sound I could hear. The quiet was nice. It gave me space to breathe, to think. Eventually, I found myself in front of the romance section. The spines of the books were a rainbow of colors, each one promising a different kind of love story. My fingers skimmed across the titles until they stopped on a green book with a particularly beautiful cover. I pulled the book from the shelf, feeling the weight of it in my hands. The cover was soft beneath my fingertips, almost velvety. It was stunning, the kind of book you’d want to display on a shelf just to admire. The title, "BE MINE," was written in elegant gold

I placed my face against hers then kissed her cheek, feeling the softness of her skin and inhaling her sweet scent. “I want to make tonight special for you,” I said in her ear and moved my arms downward then held her hips. “I want to worship you tonight. I want to make you feel needed. Tonight is our wedding night, and you deserve one from a fairytale book. I will make you mine tonight. Roses, a white dress, the guests, the sunshine: it all felt so vivid, yet so surreal. His gaze landed on the empty spot where the bridesmaid should have been, and it all clicked why that seat was unoccupied. Natalie was gone. She was gone forever. She had taken her life.
