Her hands were on the table, fingers laced together, and they were not entirely still.
A waitress came. Priya ordered tea without looking at the menu, the order of someone who needed something in front of her rather than something to drink.
When the waitress left Priya looked at me properly for the first time.
"You look like the photos," she said. "From the news. They weren't kind to you. The photos."
"No," I said. "They weren't."
