I laughed—a shaky, fragile sound. “You’ll be an amazing evil godmother.”
“Just helping. You both messed up—give him a chance.”
“Okay,” I whispered. “I won’t run.”
“Sleep, sparkly boy,” she said softly.
“I love you, Lily.”
“I love you too. It’s okay to love him.”
Her words echoed: It’s okay to love him.
For the first time in months I felt something close to hope.
