"What if this is the last time I ever see him alive?" The burden was crushing me. I couldn't eat properly. Couldn't sleep. Couldn't even breathe without feeling guilty. If I stayed silent... Oliver could die. If I spoke... Cole had promised to kill my baby. Tears burned behind my eyes. I blinked them away before anyone noticed. "Lilith?" A gentle voice pulled me back from my trance. I looked up upon hearing the voice. It was one of the younger kitchen staff. Her name was Mira. She had only joined the palace a few months ago, but she was always kind to everyone, although she barely speaks.

It was only during the night as I sat by the fireplace feeling the warmth of the cinders, I would truly feel free of all shackles. This was why I was nicknamed Cinderella by everybody around me but Mary would say, “Just because you are called Cinderella does not mean you will marry some prince charming. You are just a cinder; a piece of burnt coal which needs to be disposed off to some waiter washing dishes at Four Seasons”

I guessed we wouldn’t have any problems. “Jane, Caden is not just a man who worked for us. He is actually a well-respected man with a good business and a wealthy background. His technology skills are private, though. It is only his hobby that he loves the most…” Mom added, which made me raise both of my brows, waiting for her to add more information. What do I do with that? Kaihly was the same as him. She had good business and wealthy background and her hobby was playing with technology. What made him special aside from the fact that he was the best?

“Commander Kael’s… member is rather large. It scares me to think you might not survive the night.” I grimaced openly, my expression disgusted, which seemed to amuse the woman standing before me. A small chuckle escaped her lips. “Here, wear this,” she said, handing me a piece of clothing. “These men don’t deserve to see your gorgeous body, do they? You may call me Kaida, by the way.”

I took a deep breath calming my nerves as I began to step forward and accept Kassius as my mate when I heard another voice speak up. “Mine!” A deep husky voice sounded from the crowd. There gasps and murmurs as the crowd parted to let Kai through. Kassius’ face was red and his eyes dark with anger. Kai stepped toward me, the look in his eyes telling me that the rumors had been true all along. He had planned to take me as his Luna from the beginning. I was shocked and intrigued. I couldn’t believe Kai would want me to be his Luna, his mate, his partner and his lover. Most of all I couldn’t believe there was a part of me that wanted to have that life with Kai as well.

She hasn’t been this close to him without an intention to protect him. Her heart was racing in her chest – she wouldn’t be surprised if he can hear it. Kai slowly blinked and dragged his finger down her cheek – leaving an imprint of his colored finger.

“I don’t care. Kaiden is the Alpha. He has power, authority, wealth, and respect. I have spent my entire life working to be by his side.’ ‘Power? Wealth?’ Cinder growled in disappointment. ‘You’re pathetic, Maya. You’re standing in front of the one who was created just for you, and you’re rejecting him for someone who doesn’t even love you?’ I gritted my teeth. ‘Kaiden may not love me now, but he will. I’ve worked too hard for my place beside him. I won’t throw it all away for some…..’ ‘For some what?!’ Cinder snapped. ‘Some man who would cherish you?! Someone who would actually care about you?!’

And they fully entered the house. Now for a formal introduction:Kai and Kiera were both hybrids,Kia was a half vampire and a half Jinn while Kiera was a half vampire and a half Soothsayer{pretty combination huh!}. Kai was strict,clever,serious and straightforward while Kiera was sweet,childish,sincere and fun to be around. "You guys didn't tell me that you were coming over" I scolded. Kai sat comfortably on one of the couches,crossing his legs "Well what can I say,we wanted to surprise you".
