I glanced at the screen and saw an unfamiliar number.
“Excuse me for a moment,” I said, stepping out of the room to answer.
The voice on the other end was hurried, yet familiar. It was Professor Thorne, an old mentor from my college days—a respected researcher in both human and non-human medicine, and more importantly, a werewolf like me.
“Aurora, it's urgent,” his voice sounded tense. “We need your help.”
