Fake Dating With The Playboy hockey Captain

Fake Dating With The Playboy hockey Captain

“Something that holds her accountable, but doesn’t destroy her future. It protects Cassie while also avoiding a full trial.” I exhaled slowly. That… actually sounded fair. “I'm down.” “Then I’ll handle it,” Dorothy added, reaching into her bag for her tablet. “As Cassie’s attorney.” I blinked. “Wait, what? You can do that?” Dorothy gave me a look. “I’m an attorney, Cassie. Of course I can.” “You’re a what?” I asked, surprised. Dorothy rolled her eyes. “Senior partner. Rivers Law. It’s our private firm.”

ONE WILD NIGHT

ONE WILD NIGHT

Margaret Stone — POV The envelope lay open before me, its contents scattered across the cold, polished surface of the federal prosecutor’s conference table. Twenty years of watching. Twenty years of knowing things I couldn’t prove. Twenty years of being too afraid to speak. Not anymore. Across from me sat Rebecca Walsh, Assistant Federal Prosecutor—her expression professional but curious. To her right, Agent Martinez observed silently, his eyes sharp and unreadable. “Mrs. Stone,” Walsh began, setting a recorder on the table. “Everything you say here will be documented and may be used in court. Do you understand?”

Lies And Betrayal

Lies And Betrayal

The prosecution was determined to make an example out of him, and the judge handling the case was known for his sternness. Their next step was to find a competent attorney willing to take on Satish's case pro bono. Through their network, they secured the services of Deepak, the junior most lawyer recently enrolled at the bar. Deepak was a breath of fresh air compared to the so-called veteran lawyers. He was young and dynamic, known for his commitment to justice and willingness to take on cases for the underprivileged. And unlike the veterans, whose f*es were often exorbitant, Deepak's f*e was negligible; he could have even done it for free; his career was just beginning.

Young master, your wife is reborn again

Young master, your wife is reborn again

Mu Zi walked over and asked, "Old lady, do you intend to sue again?" The old man raised his head in confusion and looked at Mu Zi, his eyes fell on her conspicuous stomach and moved to his chest to look for the badge. Mu Zi said, "I'm still in my internship and don't wear a badge, but I can help you fight for your appeal." The old man's eyes showed doubt. She was old and not well educated in her early years, and only knew that prosecutors wore badges with specific patterns, like the badges on police uniforms. Mu Zi had no such insignia on her, was pregnant, and was still in her internship.

Dream Dominant Collection

Dream Dominant Collection

"Your witness, gentlemen." The lead prosecutor, an arrogant young man in an expensive charcoal grey suit, approached Blake on the witness stand. "Mr. Walker." He gave a mean smile. "You are a wilderness counselor, is that correct?" "Yes." "I understand that you're also a pilot." Blake returned the other man's gaze and said nothing. The lawyer looked up to the judge. "That's not a question, counselor." The judge seemed irritated. There was a titter of laughter in the gallery. The prosecutor whipped his head around, his face slightly reddened.

The Billionaire Husband Who Tried to Kill Me

The Billionaire Husband Who Tried to Kill Me

No way to look away from what you were there to do. I sat down and folded my hands on the table and told myself to breathe. The lead prosecutor was a woman named Patricia Chen. Mid forties, dark suit, hair pulled back, the kind of face that gave nothing away without effort. The second prosecutor was younger, a man named Harris who had a notepad and a pen and the careful attentiveness of someone who had been told to listen and was taking it seriously.

Rude Awakenings

Rude Awakenings

Instinctively, her hands reached down for her stomach and Kate saw his eye twitch, his cool composure dropping for a fraction of a second, before the smarmy grin returned, his head tilting to the side to listen to his lawyer. Thankful for the distraction of the prosecutor, Kate answered their basic questions; her name, her relationship to the defendant, their history, before he delved into the details of the two attacks Preston had made on her life. Her gaze constantly darted back to Sandy, who smiled and nodded reassuringly as Kate recounted her experiences; the friendly prosecutor offering her the same kind smiles and encouraging nods. The nerves that swarmed her stomach had barely subside

This was so good. The main characters were properly fleshed out and I ended up loving Paloma. Colton essentially being a redeemable bum in need of therapy and stability was super realistic. Everyone having regular jobs was a breath of fresh air. The sex has you wishing you could be Kate. Solid read

Definitely one of my favorites, love the journey to love for Colton and Kate. They feel so real and it’s a roller coaster of emotions, with a psycho stalker for more thrills. Not sure why it’s broken into 2 books but reading back to back still flows. Thank you, author!!

FRAMED FOR MURDER WHILE PREGNANT: NOW I'M THE MAFIA'S WIFE

FRAMED FOR MURDER WHILE PREGNANT: NOW I'M THE MAFIA'S WIFE

Perfect for this case. "Ms. Romano," the judge began using Becca's birth name instead of Castellano, a deliberate choice. "You've agreed to testify in exchange for reduced charges. Do you understand that any lies or omissions will void your deal and you'll face the maximum sentence for all charges?" "I understand, Your Honor." Becca's voice was small, contrite. Performance art. "Then let's begin. Prosecutor Hayes, your witness." Assistant U.S. Attorney Margaret Hayes stood a woman who'd built her career on taking down organized crime. She approached Becca with the confidence of a hunter who'd already won.

The Devil’s Convenient Wife

The Devil’s Convenient Wife

CAEL’S POV I walked into the restaurant with Charles right behind me. I had seen the people we were here to meet from afar and when we got to them, Charles did the introductions. “Boss, this is Luisa Klein, Lead Prosecutor of the case we are involved in. Miss Luisa, this is Cael Ashford, CEO of Ashford Capital,” Charles introduced. “Nice to meet you, Luisa,” I stretched my hand towards her. She shook my hand, “Whether it will be a pleasant meeting or not, that will be decided later. Have your seat for now.”
