Lucifer's Redemption

Lucifer's Redemption

But with Hera being the most trustworthy goddess for him, one that he had loved for so long and lost, he had hoped a lesser punishment could be persuaded. As the carriage finally landed on the pearly streets, Parisa pushed the carriage door open, not even waiting for the footmen to help her down. Lillith grumbled, feeling her mother let out a harsh breath. “Why was the ride so terrible?” she muttered until she looked up at the sky. Hades put his arm around Parisa, who was now stunned, and watched what she was witnessing. The skys were black, lightening weaving in and out of the darkened clouds. Rain dared to fall but always evaporated before landing on the god and goddess’ head.

Great story, I’m a fan of mythology and this novel has an unique and interesting way of combining folk tales, pagan and Christian beliefs. I loved the story and the outlines of every character and it’s way of redemption/salvation.

Aphrodite

Aphrodite

Master made sure I was well versed in literature, poetry, music, arts and dance. Master kept me indoors until I was thirteen years old, before he began hosting concerts and big dinner parties where he charged royals and demanded gold coins and expensive jewellery for them to catch a glimpse of me. I was not allowed to converse with any person and to be honest, I do not believe that I can because when I enter a place, everyone hushes and mumbles my name of Aphrodite. Theseus is also said to have taken part in the Argonautic expedition and the Calydonian boar hunt. The famous friendship between Theseus and Pirithous, one of the Lapiths, originated when Pirithous drove away some of Theseus’s cows. Theseus pursued, but when he caught up with him, the two heroes were so filled with admiration for each other that they swore brotherhood. Pirithous later helped Theseus to carry off the child Helen. In exchange, Theseus descended to the Underworld with Pirithous to help his friend rescue Persephone, daughter of the goddess Demeter. But they were caught and confined in Hades until Heracles came and released Theseus.

Valerie

Valerie

She calls this unusual entity, Anti-magic. "What are Harpies?" Theia small voice calls, her eyes haven't left Valerie, not even to glance at the beauty of the ocean the Sirens occupy. She would hear Valerie gasp, cry, whine, and shiver and felt utterly useless. A tense silence falls over them, and Grayson sighs, "they are birds bearing the face of a woman, said to be harbingers of punishment, and employed by Zeus. They torture the guilty as they drag them to Tartarus. The journey is said only to be a day, but their cruel endeavours make it seem longer." Dylan whistles under his breath, his eyes also watching Valerie.

The start is so intense and dramatic, I love it. I felt her pains, frustrations and I have so many questions, a lot, especially for her father. Why? Why? You have done a great job, author, well-done.
