Whatever the Queen was, it wasn’t my damn problem.
The Queen stepped forward, her emerald eyes sweeping over the crowd. A hush fell over the field, anticipation crackling in the air.
"Thank you all for coming upon my call," she said, her voice smooth yet commanding. It carried through the field effortlessly, as if the very air bent to her will. "The reason for this sudden ceremony is simple. I have long sought my granddaughter, and tonight, I welcome her home."
Murmurs rippled through the crowd, excitement and curiosity flashing in their eyes. The Queen gave a small nod toward a young woman standing at the entrance door of the palace. Without hesitation, the woman bowed and strode inside.
