A coat settled over my shoulders. I turned. Dante stood behind me. "What are you thinking about?" he asked. I drew the coat closer and breathed in the faint scent of cedar. "I was thinking that I have never danced for myself," I said softly. I had always danced to please Lorenzo. Dante did not answer. He extended his hand, palm up.

She grabbed a colorful ball and, as she leaped all the way down, the colorful ball hanging high in the air burst into colorful streamers and ribbons. Like a flurry of snow, the ribbons cascaded down in all directions. "Wow!" The children in the audience jumped up in unison, reaching out to catch the golden ribbons swirling in the air. At that moment, the entire auditorium finally erupted in excitement. Standing on one foot atop Finnegan's shoulder, Merida lifted her mask, revealing her chubby face. She grinned brightly at Elara.
