Raven reached for a pack of cigarettes and held out the packet for Elena. She shook her head. “I don't smoke.” “Yet…” Raven added. Silently, Elena watched Raven place the stick of cigarette between her lips and light an end on fire. Raven didn't look like most of the girls back home. Dark purple hair that shimmered faintly under the light, tanned skin, face piercings and a tattoo sleeve. Raven blew out a puff of smoke. “So what're you in here for? You know majority of the people who join in are homeless people who've got no place to go.” She eyed Elena briefly. “You don't exactly look like you've been homeless.”

I let out a small breath I had been holding and debate whether or not to mind link Maddox. If there’s a chance Maddox is apart of this then he won’t save me and instead would make things worse. But… I don’t think he’s apart of this anymore. And now that Sebastian’s gone, I wonder if Maddox is the only one I can truly trust. Raven sounded a little confused, and still looked embarrassed. Heather put her book on the table and pushed it in front of Raven. There was a small picture on the front, just like most of Raven's Braille books. The picture looked like a little blonde girl wearing a homemade Superman -- Supergirl, I suppose -- costume. The title was Robin's Great Adventures. At the bottom of the picture I could barely make out the words "A story by", then in larger letters "Raven Tipton".

“I want immunity.” I scoffed. “You attacked my mate with chemical weapons. You’re not getting immunity.” “Do you want to know who I work for or not?” Raven challenged. Darren held up a hand, silencing us both. “Start talking. Then we’ll discuss terms.” Raven seemed to consider this, then shrugged. “Fine. I work for the humans.” The room went still. Even Darren, despite his calm facade, stiffened in his chair. “Which humans?” he finally asked, his voice low.
