LOGIN(Warning: heavy sexual scene ahead) Raven Knight had everything planned: return home, claim her position as Pack Doctor, and stand beside her fated mate, Alpha River, as Luna. But all of that crumbles when she walks in on a betrayal she never saw coming: her sister in River’s arms, and a secret her own parents helped bury. Reeling from heartbreak, Raven disappears into the shadows of The Cave, a hidden club where werewolves go to drown their pain. But the night takes a darker turn. Drugged, kidnapped, and sold to the highest bidder. She wakes up in chains… claimed by Keeran Nightwind, the notorious Alpha of the region's largest and most feared pack. Cold, calculated, and cursed to never find a mate, Keeran didn't expect to purchase a broken Luna, much less one with such fire still burning behind her eyes. As days turn into weeks, Raven is torn between the pain of her past and the complicated man who now holds her future. Behind Keeran’s power lies a different kind of loyalty, and in her shattered heart, something dangerous begins to stir: hope. When fate offers her a second chance, Raven must choose: return to the world that betrayed her, or stand beside a man who was never meant to have a mate… and might just risk everything to protect her.

The forest was just as I remembered it, calm, familiar, and alive with that quiet kind of magic only a werewolf could feel. I inhaled deeply as I crossed the border into Hallowed Pine, the scent of earth and pine wrapping around me like a warm blanket. It had been years since I walked this path. Three years to be exact, three years of agonizing pain of not being able to shift.
The training was grueling. Medical school on its own was already a battlefield, but when you added combat drills, field healing in full shift, and the pressure of representing your pack at one of the top academies, it became something else entirely, but I made it through. I graduated, got certified and licensed. For three years, I endured so much and now I am finally home.
The clinic would be mine soon enough, just like I promised Dad. And just like Alpha River promised me. He was my mate and my future.
He believed in me before anyone else did, and even though I hadn’t seen him yet, I knew he’d be waiting when the time was right.
The path opened into the main clearing. The buildings were just how I left them, some touched up, a few with fresh paint, but everything still held the bones of home. I passed the warrior post and caught a few curious glances. I guess word hadn’t spread yet.
A young male stepped out from the side of the pack house, pausing mid-step when he saw me. His eyes widened, and then he smiled, a bit too big for someone who was trying to play it cool.
“You’re Raven, right?” he called out.
I nodded. “That obvious?”
He laughed, jogging over. He couldn’t have been more than sixteen or seventeen, all lanky limbs and teenage energy. His aura was faintly Alpha, just enough to make me pause.
“I’m Kellan,” he said. “I’m Alpha River’s cousin. He’s not here yet, but he told me to keep an eye out for you.”
Of course he did.
I raised an eyebrow.
“Didn’t think the Alpha would send a kid for something this important.”
He straightened a little at that, puffing up with pride. “I’m not a kid. I’m his future beta in training.”
That made me smile.
“Well then, Beta-in-training Kellan, I appreciate the welcome.”
He beamed, clearly pleased with himself.
“We’re all really excited to have you back, you know. People still talk about your dad like he’s some kind of legend. They say you’ve got his hands.”
I blinked at that, more touched than I expected to be.
“I hope I do.”
He gestured toward the pack house.
“Come on, I’ll help you get settled. River said you could take the East wing until your place is ready. I can show you the clinic too, if you want.”
I glanced back toward the trees one last time, feeling my wolf stir with anticipation.
“No need,” I said, adjusting the strap of my bag. “I know my way, Kellan but thank you.”
My wolf was enthusiastic, both of us were excited because this wasn’t just my homecoming, it was the start of something bigger. I wasn’t here to rest. I was here to work, to serve, to take my place beside my mate, not just as Luna, but as the next pack doctor.
And I was ready.
Kellan meant well, but I knew River better than he did.
“He’s not here yet,” he said.
Right. At seven in the morning, when River practically growled at the sun every time it dared to wake him early? Not a chance.
So instead of heading straight for the pack house, I veered off toward a smaller trail lined with smooth stones and overgrown grass. It led to River’s place, the Alpha’s personal residence. Private, quiet, tucked between thick pine trees that hid it from most of the village paths. Not many bothered him here.
I slowed as I reached the porch. The steps still creaked like they used to, but I avoided the loud one near the third plank. I knew every corner of this place. Every groove in the railing, every mark in the wood from when we were too reckless with training weapons or careless with late-night drinks.
The door was unlocked. Of course it was. River always said no one was stupid enough to rob an Alpha. I pushed it open, slow and careful, making sure it didn’t creak.
The house was dim, the curtains weren’t drawn yet, and the faint smell of pinewood and cedar lingered, his scent. Gods, I missed it more than I wanted to admit.
My boots barely made a sound as I stepped inside. The living room was exactly the same. Couch still slightly sunken in on the right side where River always sat, a half-finished book on the table, and an old training jacket tossed carelessly over a chair. Typical.
I was about to call out his name, maybe to tease him for sending his kid cousin to lie for him, when I heard it.
A sound. It was faint that a human wouldn’t catch it. I listened and then there it was a giggle. Soft and it belongs to a female.
I froze.
My wolf tensed beneath my skin, ears perked and alert. I took another step, more cautious this time. The sound hadn’t come from the main floor. Upstairs, in his room.
A million things raced through my head, but I forced them down. Maybe it was nothing. Maybe someone came by to talk. Maybe Kellan had been right and River really wasn’t home and-
No. River’s scent was fresh, warm, alive in this house. He was here. And someone else was, too.
I moved without sound, climbing the stairs like a ghost. Each footstep was placed with precision. No creaks. No warning.
The door to his room was cracked open just slightly, light slipping through the gap. I stepped closer and paused, listening. Another giggle. Then a voice. It was too soft to make out, and then River’s. His voice, low, gruff, laced with something I couldn’t quite place. Not playful, not exactly… happy either, but intimate.
I stood there, my fingers brushing the doorframe, heart beating slower than normal but harder with each pulse. I didn’t move. I didn’t speak. I just listened.
Whatever was waiting behind that door… it wasn’t what I expected to find on the morning I finally came home.
My fingers moved from his chest to slowly trace out every dip and curve of his abs and then, to lightly circle the flesh around his hard nipple with my pointing finger. If he can make me a quivering mess with just a kiss then I want to make him beg underneath me.His breathing had picked up, increasing in intensity until he was panting, Adam's apple rapidly moving as he swallowed. Even his muscles had twitched underneath my palms, tense and rigid from how hard he was restraining himself. His hot palms had found place on my waist, squeezing and releasing the flesh with his tapered fingers.I left a wet trail from his neck down to his collarbone, nibbling against the sensitive flesh and could hear his harsh intake of breath when I purposefully lowered my mouth close to his hard nipple and breathed out. The sparks seemed to suddenly scatter all over my body when his large hand cupped my ass, long fingers squeezing the delicate flesh through the cotton of my panties. I could feel myself b
Raven’s POV"Out of curiosity, how old are you? 200? 400?" I asked Keeran one evening out of genuine curiosity.Werewolf age is very difficult to pinpoint. Those one with pure blood, came directly from our ancient savage ancestry the Lycan usually has a long span of life. You can't judge our age just by our face like humans. It would be impossible because our life span was much much longer than a regular human's life span. Some live for over thousands of years, or even longer. As scary and impossible as that sounds."Close. Over 900," he finally replied, gauging my reaction with that handsome curl of his brow and lips.Did I mishear that? Did he just say he's over 900 years old? Keeran is probably older than my whole family tree."How is that close?" I glare at him from the corner of my eye. "You're old."I wrinkled my nose in distaste while combing out my messy head of hair. Glancing into the mirror of the new vanity he had someone bring yesterday, I watched his eyes follow my move
I spent a couple of days contemplating my situation, really giving it a deep thought.Although I was uncertain of the future with Keeran, I know for certain that he wouldn't hurt me.With Keeran’s scent mark on my skin, it's impossible to run or hide from him. The trail I leave behind would be like a map that would lead him to me. What's the use in doing something so pointless? He could track me down before I could get very far and drag me back the very next. It's highly improbable so I won't try to sugar coat it by thinking that I could. And even if I wanted to run, Orion's pack is to the left of here and to the right is a giant forest that looked rather dark and creepy. If I run into Jared, I might as well put a noose around my neck and hang myself. I know Orion is not going to let me get out of there alive. Apparently, everyone near Keeran’s pack caught wind of him purchasing a female she-wolf who was stupid enough to drink because she got dumped with infinite fertility and a best
Raven's Point of View"What are you thinking so hard about?" Keeran's warm breath fluttered the strands of hair on my temple when he spoke, startling me with his proximity and sudden appearance from my lack of attentiveness. My thoughts had, once again, pulled me away from reality. I had not even realized that Granny Ada had cleaned up the plate and water almost an hour ago.Everything felt as if it was out of my hands.I was becoming molded by my situation, letting myself become guided instead of guiding myself, as silly as that sounds. It was weird to be tossed into this mess and forced to accommodate myself, like a sponge ready to soak up information and continue living. Although the environment has changed, I have not. How could you know someone like me has a special ability such as conceiving multiple times above normal? I’m a doctor and do not believe in that. But no matter what, I continue to breathe and live. The person making the decision is me. Not anyone else.Me.I looked
Almost 20 minutes later, I was back in Keeran’s room, lounging on the bed because I had nothing better to do right now.If the next couple of days were going to be like this, then I might just die of boredom. I was always used to the fast-paced life with work being my main priority, other than trying to find what made me stop aging. It was odd to be sitting around with nothing to do.Rora had brought me some books to read, but I was already getting bored of that too. No one was willing to give me a phone or laptop because they were afraid that I would try to contact someone and escape. Which, honestly, was something that I would do..What person in their sane mind wouldn’t?I felt as if I was a sitting duck, waiting for danger and attack to come without knowing when. It made me nervous, anxious, and slightly hesitant.According to that book I read, I only had six months’ time to be marked, mated, and pupped. Like what the hell? I was just purchased to breed and the whole thing suddenly
Raven's Point of ViewThe stifling atmosphere had immediately changed with this woman's appearance. Her warm kind smile and friendly aura brightened Kayen's dark attitude."Don't mind this boy. He's just a big ol' tease." She turned to me with a really warm smile.Oh yeah.I know that Kayen is just a 'tease.'She sent a sharp warning glance to Kayen before her gaze roamed over the contours of my face, eyes shimmering with astonishment at what she saw."I knew you were beautiful beneath all of that makeup but I didn't expect you to be this gorgeous!" she exclaimed.I really didn't know what to reply to her comment other than, "Thank you."Who doesn't like compliments?Although all these compliments are making me kind of embarrassed."Pardon my rudeness, sweetheart. I never introduced myself the other night. I am Adaleide, Keeran's and Kayen's grandmother. Everyone calls me Granny Ada." She reached out and hugged me to her in a warm bear hug that I tried to return."It's nice to meet yo
