Xyla smiled as she waved at him. The moment Stanley saw Xyla, his gaze turned gentle. He immediately waved at her. “Come here…” He said softly. “Tsk, tsk, tsk… We can only see you like this in front of Xyla…” Henry crossed one leg over the other flamboyantly. He leaned lazily against a high-class, dark brown, traditional-style chair as he teased Stanley. “Do you have a problem with that?” Stanley asked. Henry instantly shrugged. “How could I possibly have a problem with that? Would I even dare?”

The man’s finger trembled as he glanced nervously at the picture of Zia and Nia that Henry held. Henry nodded, sliding the photo back into his jacket. “Let’s go.” Raymond tucked his cigarette away, reaching for his Glock 19, while Henry gripped his SIG Sauer. They moved swiftly.

“Good. And while you’re at it, dig deeper into Ryan’s and Scarlet’s recent activities. I want to know everything, every move they’ve been making.” Martin nodded in understanding. “Consider it done.” Henry’s hands trembled with both anger and frustration as he hung up the phone. The news of a fire outbreak at several of his properties was the last straw, and he was even more determined to make Ryan pay for messing with his money. With a deep sigh, Henry moved across his office, the scent of liquor filling the air. He reached the elaborate bar, pouring himself a generous glass of whiskey. The alcohol burned his throat, temporarily calming the storm that raged in him.

“Um… “ She stuttered and Henry let out a low chuckle. He had noticed her staring for a while and for some reason, he liked it. “You can look your fill. I don’t mind,” Henry remarked and heat crept up Roxanne’s face. She suddenly thought about the medical files she saw and asked, “I’ve noticed that you don’t often go to the hospital. When do you have your physical therapy?” Henry froze. He glanced at Roxanne and answered, “My personal doctor does that for me. But I’m on a business trip right now so I can't have my usual routine.”

Alpha Wyatt never came back to the Packhouse while I was there, so I never even got to talk to him about anything—which didn’t help me get any sleep.
