I slowly open my eyes. A pale ray of light slips through the blinds. I sit up slowly in bed. I grimace. No pain. Just the absence. Just that warm, sticky void between my legs, that cruel reminder of what I have lost. Of what I have sacrificed. I could cry. But I do not cry.

“You’re a note-taker.” “I don’t like to forget things.” “Good habit. Useful here.” I turned to my monitor and logged in to Arclight. The interface blinked alive, a little too bright against the cool light. I found the INTAKE column and clicked the first card: Simple re-flow for a brochure. Assets attached: text doc, two images. No revisions requested, just a date and a promise of “more to come.”

He couldn't. Hope surged through my veins as I hurriedly picked up the second bottle and turned it to read its label. Remembro. And, that's was when all that was glued back together with hope. Shattered all over again. Pieces of me laid there on the floor. Shattered. Tears brimming in the corner of my eyes, making them shine. Remembro is an illegal drug in Eleneas. It is used to damage the memory power of a person making them unable to remembering things.

The air was thick with anticipation, as if the walls themselves held countless untold stories. I approached the reception desk, where a young woman with piercing blue eyes and an enigmatic smile greeted me. Her name tag read "Lena." "Welcome to Memoria," she said, her voice soft yet confident. "How may I assist you today?" "I... I've heard that you can erase memories," I stammered, my voice barely above a whisper. "Is it true?" Lena nodded, her gaze unwavering. "Yes, it's true. Memoria specializes in memory alteration. We help individuals who seek to escape the pain of their past, to start anew."

Aiden's POV Daryl Watkins inserted the straw into his drink, took a couple of sips, and his eyes lit up at once. "Oh my, you actually remembered! You remembered that I said I liked extra mocha sauce in my java chip frappe! You're the best, Bridget!" Bridget Ellison casually replied, "When have I ever forgotten anything you said?" The other people in the room also agreed loudly with her. "Alright, we all know that you remember every single thing about us!"

Aiden's POV I clear my mind of everything expect what I can remember about being inside of Remi's mind. Her mind is a little less organized. Okay, let me stop bullshitting you. It's fucking chaos in her mind! There's no rhyme or reason to her organization. However, every shield she had up was to prevent someone from knowing all that she was capable of. There's one she keeps Payne behind. Keeping her identity separate from Payne allowed her to have a somewhat regular life as Remi. A shield keeps all the information about 318's less legal activities guarded. Another shield protects the information on patrons that she vets for events. Those were all easy to break down.
