His wrinkled face looked like it was crawling with countless wriggling worms. I shuddered and stepped back, whispering to Silvia, "Good thing I've got you. This place is terrifying." She snorted and suddenly shoved me forward, straight toward George. With an icy laugh, she said, "This pretty boy will make a great offering. You're going to love him." Before I could react, George gestured, and several eerie puppets stepped forward to pin me down and drain my blood. A sharp bell rang out, echoing through the night.

Only the ring of hammer on steel. Her claws ached beneath her skin, begging to break through. Later, as the sun tipped toward noon, Sabrina followed Raven to the far side of camp and her blond pigtails bounced with her steps, but her expression was pinched with worry. “They’re just… scared,” Sabrina said, biting her lip. “That’s all this is, as fear makes people stupid.” Raven dropped her weight heavily onto a stone slab, arms crossed. “Scared people don’t whisper like that, scared people don’t stop looking you in the eye and also scared people don't grab their knives when you pass.”

I hear voices before my brain puts together what’s happening. “Mommy said the scary man is trying to find us, and these will protect us.” Griffon says happily. “Yeah, and they’re pretty.” Heather adds. Dallas laughs, “That they are, pumpkin.”

He added. Iero and Aria sighed in relief, though still felt scared. After all, it was a true story. And, even if they haven’t seen a ghost before, but based from Hierro’s story, ghosts should be scary. They decided not to stay up late. “So, is it my turn now?” Reyan asked and smiled. Iero and Aria froze. Then, they stared at Reyan. If Hierro’s story scared them, what more would Reyan’s story be? But, even if they feel that Reyan’s story would be scarier, they can’t help but want to listen.

She didn't want to hear anymore of the frightening story. "Don't tell me you're all scared. It's a myth, I made it up!" John smirked, his eyes gazing at the scared faces of his girlfriend and friends. "Ha ha ha, scared? I've never been scared of anything in my life!" Rocky roared in laughter as he rose from the ground. "Scary stories don't scare me. I'm gonna pee!" He uttered still grinning. "Don't wander far into the woods, you never know who you'll meet." John warned in a playful but spooky voice.

I hope I do not end up screaming so loudly that my baby decides to make an early entrance into the world. I have always preferred romance novels over any other genre. There is something comforting about them, even if they do not always reflect reality. Horror, on the other hand, fills me with dread. It gives me a wild imagination, and I often end up with nightmares after reading or watching anything scary. I remember the times in school when my roommates would roll their eyes at me during horror movies because I could not stop screaming. Eventually, they would kick me out of the room, and I would miss the rest of the movie. The memory makes me giggle, though it is tinged with a hint of nosta

"That must have been a scary movie. You must've been scared, Lippy," Hearing says my nickname makes my body feel sick. Leah peeks her way through my conversation with Camila. "But you must know scary movies are just make-believe stories. There is no such thing as Freddy Kruger or Jason. It's okay to be scared; as adults, we see those movies as not real. Even children can tell the difference between fiction and non-fiction."

Jones stared at Claire as she whispered, “What happened next?” Suddenly, she was a little girl again. He used to tell her scary stories about werewolves, vampires, fae, and warlocks. May hated it, but he couldn’t say no when his little niece looked up at him with big eyes and asked so politely for a story. He would always stopped at the climax, sighed dramatically, and say that it’s too scary. She would grab his hand and say she wasn’t scared, that she would be brave. She would ask, so excited, “What happened next?”
