It attracts them.” Lucas laughed, but Emily noticed how he hesitated before lowering the camera. She crouched by the fire pit, arranging wood and struggling with the lighter. Her hands shook more than she wanted to admit. “This isn’t just about stories, you know,” she said quietly. “People died here. Disappeared.” Vanessa scoffed. “And every small town has its local ghost story. There’s no documented evidence.”
