I managed to come up with something, laughing nervously and silently hoping Marcus would buy my lie. "We get that a lot. He looks like our grandfather while I look like our dad." Marcus replied and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding as he bought the lie I just told. "It's nice to finally meet you, Julian. I have heard a lot about you." I smiled, holding my hand out for him for a shake. "Likewise. I do hope they are all nice things though." He smirked as he took my hand. “Of course.” I breathed out.

For the next few minutes, the conversation shifted to lighter topics. They told me funny stories about things that had happened around the house, and for the first time in what felt like forever, I actually laughed. Their stories were filled with small, humorous mishaps—like the time the gardener accidentally watered Mr. Dela Cruz's shoes or when a squirrel ran into the kitchen, causing panic among the staff. I reply putting on a fake sad expression. "Well, if you think of any other funny stories, you'll have to share them with me," Iskander says smiling. "You're a really good storyteller." We ended up making the best mud pies, and Mom was not happy about it!" Jonathan, intrigued, leans in and shares, "Rain seems to be the theme tonight. You know, back in college, there was this legendary prank involving a rain machine. Let me tell you, that story still makes me laugh." A man hit by a car in New York in 1977 got up uninjured, but lay back down in front of the car when a bystander told him to pretend he was hurt so he could collect the insurance money. The car then rolled forward and crushed him I don't own any of this stories. I found them in some creepy books. I'm thinking of writing my own scary stories, but not anytime soon.
