Chapter 1 Sheila's POV I ordered three shots of tequila, flashing a faint smile at the bartender. He returned a weak smile, filling the shots and placing them in front of me. I sat close to the bar counter in a Pythagorean bar, a drink house with a weird name, expectedly stocked with crazy people - humans and werewolves alike. The werewolf world is a complex one. A world where power and control rules leaving the weaklings to suffer in turmoil.

Not yet. Sena’s fingers tightened around the Moonmark fragment in her pocket. They were ready. The time had come to face the storm. The first blast of energy rang out, a flare of light in the distance. And then, chaos. The rebellion had struck. ---

Above it, a carving: “To the Luna who ends the cycle.” “What is this?” I whispered. Thorne’s voice was soft. “The seat of the first rebellion. Built by the Luna who tried to stop the gods from meddling in our bloodlines.” I stepped forward, trembling. “She failed,” I said. “She did,” he agreed. “And the world paid the price.” Kael touched the stone. “Why show us this now?” “Because the rebellion isn’t over,” Thorne said. “And this time… the gods won’t stay neutral.”

He began to dash around. Cornilla's retaliation was unique; instead of being concerned, she smiled sarcastically at the slave seller and slowly made her way to the barn. The slave trader became enraged. The follower rushed to attack the wolf at his command. But they have the same fate as pot-bellied. The prodigious scene made the slave seller consolidate in fear. Bellatrix, on the other hand, shuddered incessantly, standing still and terrified.

Darius turned toward me, ignoring the battle raging around him, pure murderous possession on his face. "I'm coming for you, wife," he growled, taking a step forward. "And this time, I won't be gentle." The Eclipse warriors formed a wall between us, but Darius's eyes never left mine. The bond I had shattered still whispered dark, toxic promises in the back of my mind. Kael staggered to his feet one last time, charging Darius with a desperate roar. Then everything went to hell as more Ironfang reinforcements poured from the shadows.

I anxiously tried to stop them, but Jared suddenly snatched Larry's baton and smashed it on me, knocking me to the ground. He was seething with rage. "No wonder…it's the same in the past—you two are in this together, trying to deceive me!" I was shocked to realize that Jared was also reborn. No wonder he had insisted that I was lying on the phone despite not asking for his help this time. But as blood poured out from my body, my head began to spin, and I could barely speak. All I could do was lie there, struggling weakly. Jared took in a deep breath and clamped his hand tightly on my wrist. "Do you know what the consequences of hurting the daughter of the Spencer family are?

Fair wasn’t a word that could be applied to human/wolf relations and we just had to accept it. “You’re right, The Dirty Den isn’t worth the risk, but getting one over on our lords and masters is. Call me a rebel.” He tipped his glass up in a salute, clearly enjoying seeing himself in the role of a disrupter. If I’d seen him walking down the street I never would have guessed it, he looked so straight-laced. “I’ll keep that in mind.” I saluted him with my glass in return. “Can you point me towards the bar? I need to find my friend.”

He motions for me to continue flipping each page until he finally holds his hand up, halting me. The two pages are made up of mostly dense print, except for an illustration on the top right. I run my fingers over the ink, triggering something vaguely familiar in the depths of my mind. No, not the depths...I saw this the other night. “What is it about?” I ask. “The rebellion." Roel points to a line in the book that mentions it's formation. “A dark, hideous plague of these lands that has haunted your reign since you were born.” I pull my hand back from the illustration like I've been burned.
