Sophia stared at the ticking red numbers, the deadline looming like a guillotine blade. Then she looked at Zero’s trembling hands, the physical toll of their resistance. The fear was there, but it was being consumed by something hotter, brighter. "I didn't crawl back from hell just to become a string of code again," Sophia stepped forward, the oil lamp casting long, dancing shadows that made her look like a warrior of old. A flame named 'rebellion' burned in her eyes, fierce and unyielding. "Tell me. Where is the Root Server?"

“What, like some neighborhood boys who stole sugar from shops?” ‎ ‎“No,” he said flatly. ‎ ‎“Oh.” ‎ ‎He stepped a bit closer, and for once, I didn’t move away. I couldn’t. My legs felt like jelly. ‎ ‎“They called themselves the Sun Slashers,” he continued. “They were violent. Connected. They controlled a lot of supplies and territory.” ‎ ‎I frowned. “Supplies? Like what, spare parts? Petrol?” ‎ ‎His eyes flicked to mine. “Not the legal kind.”

It was testimony and evidence from one of the wolves who leaked Lilian's private photos back then. "Those photos weren't leaked by accident. Chapter 2: Rebel ~Wren~ I slink in through the loose shingles on the roof, softly landing in our makeshift hideout loft. It isn’t much, honestly, it looks like a child’s playhouse, but when all the outliers are beggars or thieves, it’s hard to come by nice things for a rebel headquarters. We are lucky that Ms. Grayford is deaf and never travels upstairs. Not that she would care if she did. She hates Alpha Alden as much as we all do.
