My Shattered World

My Shattered World

"Let's get this party started!" * * * All the way along, I'd envisioned having to rebuild the world from the ground up. That wasn't entirely accurate, but it wasn't too far off, either. We decided that the first thing we needed to do, after the droid scare of the previous day, was to get communications back up and running. Our repair teams quickly scrambled to create various stations where the citizens could log in to send and check messages. For the first few weeks, until we replicated and activated enough tablets and network routers for them to have free access, they'd have to share the stations.

Surrogate for My Cold-Hearted Ex

Surrogate for My Cold-Hearted Ex

“You mean… I can bring them back?” “Maybe. But not without consequence.” Of course not. There was always a consequence. He stared out at the vast horizon again, the wind whipping through his hair. Somewhere out there, he could see the faint glint of structures — ruins, maybe, or something new. “What if I could rebuild it?” he said. “Not the Core — the world. A real one.” Maya’s voice was quiet now, barely a whisper. “You’d need to wake them. All of them.”

Feral on the Ice

Feral on the Ice

It began to turn into a giant, scrolling screen of red text. [SYSTEM ALERT: UNAUTHORIZED BIOMASS DETECTED. APPLYING HOTFIX_01.] The first seed has sprouted, but the Architects have launched a "Physical Hotfix"—a global atmospheric rewrite designed to wipe the "Glitched" survivors off the map once and for all. The war for the Real has just entered the "Update" phase.

Against All Odds

Against All Odds

"What happens now, Cerberus?" I looked to Archer, and then to Zeina, and then to the wolves, our people. The ones who had bled and followed, questioned and believed. My voice was steady, but it did not echo from the walls like before. It resonated deeper, like it had been carved into the very bones of the world. "Now," I said, "we rebuild, not a kingdom of dominance, but of balance. The world is changing. It must. And we... we will not be left behind."

The Great Wolf

The Great Wolf

Amerie questioned. “The breaches elsewhere were not as large. We aren’t sure why so many were able to come through here, but in the other realms we were able to control the breaches. Only one world was badly destroyed.” “But you all rebuilt it?” The goddess met Amerie’s eyes, causing her breath to hitch as the black globes nearly pulled her in. “No.” “What?” Amerie breathed. “We did not rebuild that world. It sits in ruin, and will likely remain that way. The creatures that came through attacked us and fed on our powers. Many of us perished. I’m afraid there is not enough of us to rebuild.”

Blood on the Asphalt biker

Blood on the Asphalt biker

The air in the Reborn World didn't hum with the sterile vibration of servers; it breathed. As the gold-and-sapphire light of the Core-Nexus settled, the digital constructs of the old network solidified into something tangible. We were standing in a version of Coldwater that looked like it had been painted by a memory vivid, warm, and pulsing with a life that no corporate algorithm could ever simulate. The "First Road" had become a dusty, winding track that led toward a horizon filled with rolling hills and the distant, familiar silhouettes of a city that was finally free.

A Deal with Desire

A Deal with Desire

They gathered survivors from the scattered villages, forming a united front against the chaos that had engulfed the world. "We must rebuild," Liam said to Xal'dar, his voice filled with determination. "We cannot let this darkness consume us." Xal'dar nodded, his eyes filled with a newfound hope. "Together, we can restore the world," he replied. With their leadership, they began the arduous task of rebuilding. They cleared the debris, repaired the damaged structures, and established new communities. They planted seeds, hoping to restore the land to its former glory. The journey was long and arduous. Worlds Apart

Worlds Apart

"You're insane. You didn't just revisit all the places we used to go. You also begged anyone you could for money to pull your company out of bankruptcy. "The sad truth is, your reputation was already ruined. So, you decided to bet everything on me, hoping I'll agree to reconcile and save your company from going under." Asher was a player, and his character was questionable. A flicker of surprise flashed in his eyes as he stared at Gwyneth. "H-How did you find out?"

World of Tomorrow

World of Tomorrow

An indistinct female voice answered. “Good morning, Miss Henderson. It’s Andrew James. Is Mr. Mitchell in the office already?” He paused, listening to her reply. “May I speak to him, please? Thank you.” A few seconds later, an indistinct male voice answered in Andrew’s ear. “Yes, thank you, Justin. Good morning to you as well. I’m wondering if I can impose upon your time this morning.” Nodding, he listened to the reply. “Wonderful. I’ll need you to get over to the World’s Fair Commission offices at the Empire State building, please. I’ve a meeting this morning with the newsreel teams about where to set up cameras for the double-header game broadcast.”

I've barely been able to put this story down. I absolutely love it. I love how descriptive the story is. And it has made me want to have been able to go to that World's Fair. It is a beautiful love story and I can't wait to finish it.

I am only to Chapter 22, but this book is Amazing so far and by far my favorite. I love historical fiction and this piece is a gem. I read the Author's book about Grace and Juliet and just had to jump right into this one as some characters are the same.
