THE RED SAVIOR’S SACRIFICE
"You... you actually hit me."
"I'm not a toy, Caleb. And I'm not your secret," John hissed. He shoved the closet door open, the light of the foyer blinding him.
He didn't look back. He headed for the basement stairs, the countdown in his head ticking like a bomb.
Nine days, twenty-three hours.
"John! Get back here!" Ethan shouted from the parlor, but John was already descending into the dark.
He reached his cell, the concrete walls closing in like a tomb. He sat on the cot, his hands shaking. He needed to move. The Red Savior had work to do. He pulled the crimson coat from beneath the loose floorboard, the silk cold against his skin.
