So Samoa had to pick another target – the Red-nosed Dog. This was a creature with a powerful jaw, and steel claws. But since it was defensively weak, there was no way it would accept a one-on-one battle. So Samoa went for the Steel Bodied Mantis to bait the dog into attacking him. Then he struck it and sent it flying towards Rash Tiger’s territory. After all, although it was defensively weak, it was still a Middle Class Magical Beast. Samoa didn’t think it would be killed in that one hit. And he was right. Although it was injured, it was still alive. Well, not anymore.

At the Red Raven Healing Centre, Young Samantha stood in Dr Aegle’s office, staring her down while she spoke to her in a loving voice. She was carrying a small box of runes which, despite Dr Aegle’s best efforts, she was refusing to hand over. She was a young girl, about six years of age. Her eyes sparked with life and her brown, naturally curly hair looked somewhat dishevelled.

I begged desperately and she looked like she wasn't going to listen, which was frustrating. She regarded me with a horrific look after trailing her gaze behind me for a brief moment. Before I could turn to see what it was that horrified her, Samantha had pulled me behind her and I watched in shock as she launched at a rogue that had sneaked up behind me. She tore him apart with a speed normal ranking wolves couldn't follow. In a second, the rogue was laying decapitated and dead. She turned to me and let out a sharp sigh.

I explained. Ryker had a look of surprise on his face, but I didn’t understand why it shocked him so much. Many werewolves didn’t always rely on their wolf.
