“Freya.” “Which pack?” I hesitated for a second before answering. “NorthRidge.” Murmurs spread quietly across the room. The Alpha leaned back slightly in his chair. “What is a NorthRidge wolf doing alone in the middle of nowhere?” His tone was not soft, but it was not cruel either. I swallowed slowly. “I left.” One warrior frowned immediately. “You left your pack?” Another looked suspicious. “That never ends well.” The Alpha lifted his hand slightly, silencing them.

“Focus, children. Humans and rogues are coordinated. That’s our problem. Kieran get the guys to watch deliveries, Evelyn keeps one eye on chatter, Lou… hands in pockets until I say otherwise, okay?” Lou groans but nods, sulky but obedient. Kieran mutters something about “professional boundaries” while still simmering. Evelyn just winks at me. ”Boss we also have the pack Alpha’s coming by this week” James reminds me as we start to dismiss. I groan my head hitting the table with a solid thud. “A bunch of middle-aged Alpha’s, coming in kissing ass? My favourite”

I wasn't having it any longer. That was when Archie ran in, panting. She froze seeing the gun. And following Norris's line of sight, her gaze fell upon me. Then back to Alpha Norris and me again. "If she dares to shift, I swear by the Luna I will blow her fucking brains off. Trust me" he snarled. I'd never heard him speak in such an acidic tone. But it was too late, I reckoned. I asked her. She lay down in front of me, holding my knee tightly. I patted her on the shoulder and told her to calm down. She tried to utter something, but her tachypnea made it difficult. I held her and managed to get her up. She was still unable to speak. We stood still for some minutes before she regained herself. "The Alpha wants to destroy the heir of Drake by ordering the rogues to handle Rick. If they harm Rick, who will be the Drake family's successor?" She said while sobbing.

I said, frowning. There was a long pause again. I motioned for Ridge to sit down, he was driving me nuts. “Let us speak to the Alpha and we’ll call you back,” dad said, hanging up. “What is their Alpha going to do,” Ridge asked. “No idea,” I said, shaking my head. I got up and grabbed Ridge’s shoulders. “Look I have no idea what’s going on but you need to. We need action and you’re the Alpha,” I said. “I’m not going to let Zach of all people get me into some shit that could hurt or kill off my pack,” he said, getting angry.
