Seeing the mark, I knew that man was the Alpha of the Shadow Moon Pack. “Okay, give me the dart guns,” the Alpha said and I growled. “I'm only going to take you and your little friend as collateral, but if you do anything daring, I'll take the cub and the mother nothing else to kill as a form of sacrifice.”

Rick looks at the older man and nods. “Please Alpha, forgive us, but what we just saw is unknown to us, it resembles witchcraft. As you know we do not get along with anyone of the sort. We thought she was hurting the boy.” He bows again to show Alpha that he means no harm. Rick sighs and shakes his head. It seems that Rick understands the packs concerns about this, but he knows I would not harm anyone of them. He looks to me, eyebrows raised as if asking permission to tell them.

“Freya.” “Which pack?” I hesitated for a second before answering. “NorthRidge.” Murmurs spread quietly across the room. The Alpha leaned back slightly in his chair. “What is a NorthRidge wolf doing alone in the middle of nowhere?” His tone was not soft, but it was not cruel either. I swallowed slowly. “I left.” One warrior frowned immediately. “You left your pack?” Another looked suspicious. “That never ends well.” The Alpha lifted his hand slightly, silencing them.

“Focus, children. Humans and rogues are coordinated. That’s our problem. Kieran get the guys to watch deliveries, Evelyn keeps one eye on chatter, Lou… hands in pockets until I say otherwise, okay?” Lou groans but nods, sulky but obedient. Kieran mutters something about “professional boundaries” while still simmering. Evelyn just winks at me. ”Boss we also have the pack Alpha’s coming by this week” James reminds me as we start to dismiss. I groan my head hitting the table with a solid thud. “A bunch of middle-aged Alpha’s, coming in kissing ass? My favourite”

I wasn't having it any longer. That was when Archie ran in, panting. She froze seeing the gun. And following Norris's line of sight, her gaze fell upon me. Then back to Alpha Norris and me again. "If she dares to shift, I swear by the Luna I will blow her fucking brains off. Trust me" he snarled. I'd never heard him speak in such an acidic tone. But it was too late, I reckoned. I heard Arcie scream. "Ava no!"

Though I think the main reason we get on so well is that their also wolves. My father is an Alpha to a relatively small pack while my besties are rogues. If we followed every other packs example I would have hated them the moment I saw them. Had my father been any other Alpha I probably would have, but unlike other pack leaders he taught me that every wolf is alike and should never be judged by their title. That includes rogues. My parents believe that some cut ties with their packs because they just simply prefer the quiet life, that they’re not all bad news. Although that being said these girls have certainly gotten me into trouble more often than not.

I got up and grabbed Ridge’s shoulders. “Look I have no idea what’s going on but you need to. We need action and you’re the Alpha,” I said. “I’m not going to let Zach of all people get me into some shit that could hurt or kill off my pack,” he said, getting angry.
