Red Right Hand Peaky Blinders Novels & Stories

The three of them, Mia and Ryder and Priya, at a table in a restaurant with good light and better wine. He’d chosen it. She’d looked at it when he showed her and said: your father would have approved. He’d held her gaze for a long moment. Then: yes. He would have. They ate. They talked. They argued about something that didn’t matter and mattered completely because it was theirs. At some point Priya raised her glass. Looked at both of them. “To the wrong pair of eyes,” she said. Mia stared at her. “You knew about that?” she said.

The massive explosion swallowed the entire car in an instant as thick smoke billowed straight into the sky. Screams of panic erupted from the crowd. I stood in the stands, watching as the blazing fire devoured everything. The flickering flames reflected in my eyes. I thought to myself, "You've won the bet, Evelyn. Now, you don't need to pretend to be blind anymore." … Third-Person POV When Evelyn woke up, she was in a hospital ward. She forced her eyes open, only to be met with a stark white ceiling.

Not a question. "I don't know what—" "Fire escape." She tapped the glass. "Third rung squeaks. I reported it last month. Maintenance hasn't come." She turned. Sunglasses off. Gray eyes. Clear. Focused. *Seeing me.* "I've been blind for three months, Yan. Cornea transplant. Sixteen years of darkness, and now I see everything." She stepped closer. "Including you. Standing there. Pretending." I stood. "Why?" "Why what?"

The emergency red lights died instantly, plunged into a darkness so thick it felt physical. The security cameras in the corners of the room hissed, their lenses fracturing as the surge fried their circuits. Outside, I heard the confused shouting of men whose night-vision goggles had just become blindfolds of searing white light. The "Volkov Variable" had been temporarily blinded. "Caleb?" Evelyn’s voice was a frantic whisper in the dark. "I can't see... I can't…"

"Let’s see what’s going on. Chin here. Forehead against the strap." Cale complied. He gripped the armrests. "Better one? Or two?" Dr. Chen clicked the lenses. Click. Click. "One," Cale said. "Three? Or four?" "Three." "Five? Or six?" Cale hesitated. He squinted. "Indistinguishable," Cale admitted. "The blur is consistent. The letters are... vibrating." Dr. Chen pulled the machine back. He turned the lights up. "Well, Cale," Dr. Chen said cheerfully. "It’s official. You have presbyopia."

"A-are you a hybrid or something?" All I can manage is to shake my head no between sobs. As I shake my head, I feel him starting to press his thumbs against my lower eyelids, obstructing my vision. Oh no no no, he's going to poke my eyes out. Holy crap! He saw the violet color. He is going to blind me. I place my hands on top of his trying to pull him away. I hear myself screaming, "NONONONOOOOO! STOP!! Don't take my eyes ouuutttt! PLEEAASSEEEE!!!”

The stage was set for a clash not only of physical prowess but of mental resilience. As the seconds ticked away, the arena held its collective breath, and in this suspended moment, Evelyn's voice reverberated within Levi's mind, weaving a tale of their opponent's vulnerability. "He's been taking medication on his left eye," she confided, her words a whisper that carried the weight of shared secrets. The revelation unfolded like a delicate petal, disclosing a hidden struggle—the adversary grappling with a challenge, a subtle impairment clouding his vision.

"Thank you, Diana. I appreciate your consideration." There was a long silence before Diana spoke again. "Your Highness, may I ask you a question?" Damon sighed. "Of course, Diana." "Are you afraid of the dark?" Diana asked. Damon hesitated before answering. "No, I am not afraid of the dark. I have been blind since birth, so I have never known anything else." Diana was quiet for a moment before she spoke again. "I see. I'm sorry if I offended you."

Later, I became a core member, helping the team with a huge breakthrough. A year passed by in the blink of an eye. I had almost completely forgotten about Sean, devoting all my time to my research. Finally, we developed a drug that could help blind people regain their eyesight. After a few months of testing, Charles called me and said, "Rachel, the patients that took part in the test all regained their eyesight." I broke down in tears when I heard what Charles had said. Michael Trent, one of my colleagues, came to comfort me.

My quota of ten deaths per city was almost full. Being blind was hard - no one wished that for themselves, but I found it easier since I was an Alpha. My senses were ten times better than humans and so, I was a perfect blind man who could do almost everything. But I needed my eyes for one thing… "Hey, handsome." A lady snapped me out of my thoughts. I was sitting at my favorite spot in the club where I could feel the movement of the crowd better and the scent of different perfumes mingling with the smoke from the dancefloor.
