Honestly, between getting caught by him again or being dragged away by these rogue wolves, I’d take the latter. Suddenly, Ryder reached out his hand toward me. "We haven’t introduced ourselves yet. I’m Ryder Black!" I didn’t shake his hand, just stared at it coldly. "Ryder? What are you, a motorcyclist or something? Oh wait, I know—you’re a bandit!"

But I don't have time dwell on this, I growl as I charge forward, barreling into three warriors that were on top of Ryder. Ryder growls before wrapping his arm around the fourth warriors neck, lunging over his back and twisting his head in the process. I heard the sickening crack as he broke his neck. Ryder lands on the ground behind him, letting go while growling. Without even looking at me he ran forward, leaping onto the back of one of the men I knocked away from him. He reached around him, his hand digging into his stomach with his claws extended before ripping his claws up.

"Don't worry about it too much; it'll just make you even worse. We'll practice some more when we get on the open road the sound won't attract Warriors. I'll teach you to shoot, no matter how long it takes." Ryder looks at us from the kitchen. "Would the two of you please get a room?" I glare at him over Reese's shoulder, but Reese looks unfazed. "Don't worry about him. He's just pissed off because you called him a redneck." "Isn't he?" Ryder wears baggy, faded jeans, and a stained sleeveless shirt. His hair is shaggy, and his face is unshaved. Plus, he looks entirely too comfortable holding those guns.

He roared and Jasper foolishly lunged at him, with a couple of a few foolish others backing him up. Ryder was a one man army, but he devoured them like he was ten men. Even Jasper, in all his self-acclaimed power and might, was no match for Ryder. Ryder was in full protective Alpha mode, and he was ruthless. I watched with raised brows as he caught two men each by their throats and flung them across the streets like they were weightless rag dolls. Ryder was invincible. He managed to save off finishing Jasper off for last. Although, by the time Ryder wanted to end him, Jasper was already coughing up blood.

" Ryder managed to say. It didn't surprise Red he had actually added a thank you to his words, because of the dear written on his forehead. Red smiled once he heard that. He was slowly making him mellow. Soon, Ryder opened the door, and he gladly walked in. Immediately Red got in, he smiled, but outside, Ryder clenched his hands into fist. He felt a bit betrayed, and if she was going to betray him by having another ally, or going down to bed with another man, then he wouldn't go down alone when the time comes. He would kill her first before exposing her deeds, and everything they both planned together. He stood still, staring at nowhere and desperately waiting for an hour. In an hour's time,

All I can hear clearly is my own breathing, ragged and uneven, and the pounding of my heart as it tries to break out of my chest. I lift my head and look toward the clearing. Ryder is there. He is bleeding. He is backed up against the river, shoulders squared, body tense, eyes wild and furious as men circle him with guns and wolves prowl low around him. He looks exactly like he did ten years ago, older and harder and angrier, but still him, still the same man who stood in front of me and took a bullet without hesitation. The face I never recognized even though he was closest to me, it all came back.

"And I don't just mean keeping me alive." I glance up at him, letting a faint smile tug at my lips. "Guess I better live up to the title, huh?" He smirks faintly, his eyes softening as he leans closer to the headstone. "You've got a lifetime to prove it." Much later, we walk side by side down the cemetery. My heart still feels full, a mix of tenderness and warmth lingering in my chest. Suddenly, Rhydar doubles over. His hand clutches his stomach as a guttural growl escapes his throat. His eyes flash red, like molten fire. Black claws elongate from his fingers, glinting in the sunlight.

Ryder warned as he stepped even close to me. "No. Does it bruise your ego to know that i can read you? Everyone grovels at your feet but i'm the only one that can see right through you. A coward..." "Shut the fuck up!" Ryder's voice was dangerously low. His growls were more animalistic than anything. "So while your intention is to make me your bitch. I've just realized now what mine is. I want to rip your chest open and see what it is that you have in here..." I reached over and poked at his chest.

But my eyes looked different, sharper and hungrier. I stepped out. Ryder was already back, standing by the bed with a small ceramic jug of coffee and two mugs. He’d put on a black T-shirt, but it clung to his damp skin, outlining every ridge of muscle. The trousers were still low on his hips. He looked at me. For one long second his gaze didn’t move, just swept down my body, lingering on the way the shirt draped over my breasts, the hard peaks pressing against the cotton, the rolled waistband of his pants sitting low on my hips.

“Here’s my second question. Why did you have the urge to create Fulor? Why did you tap on the guerillas? And why are you mass producing a robot army?” Grey spit blood off his mouth and glared at Ryder. “How dare you..” “I would love to dare to,” Ryder emphasized. “Gone are my pitiful days, Grey. The one that is in front of you is the same that brought Hearth to ashes in the last civil war. I hope you didn’t forget, although it's a given that you wouldn’t.” Ryder didn’t expect Grey’s response. He stood and shouted with all his might. “ATTACK THEM!”
