In the center of the room, on a simple pedestal of white marble, sat a box.
It was made of redwood, bound in iron. It hummed.
"The Crimson Heart," Drax whispered.
I approached the pedestal slowly. I checked for tripwires, for pressure plates, for magical wards.
Nothing. It was sitting there, waiting.
"It feels too easy," Ashren said, voicing my own thoughts.
"It’s not easy," I said, reaching out. "Getting in was the hard part. The Falls, the blood seal, the Golem. The Vault assumes that anyone who makes it this far is worthy."
