I have maids to dress me up like a doll, and I don't mind being spoiled. "Mistress," Olive, another bunny maid, says. "The guests are waiting for you." "Thank you, Olive," I smiled, then looked in the mirror. "Well, girls. Shall we?" Four maids bow their heads as I exit my chambers, heading towards the hall. I had Miffy escort the three princes to the hall where my black throne sits. My throne was made of unique wood from a tree in the Dark Forest. A wood that won't burn and comes to life once fed with blood.

The throne room trembled. Then Peanut covered her ears. Screaming. The puppies howled. Even Cookie. Especially Cookie. Then the Last King stepped forward. His spear blazed like a star. The blue crystal inside it burned brighter than ever before. Then he shouted. Not at the monster. At Thomas. "NOW!" Everyone turned. Then the King pointed at the throne. The Heart of the Kingdom. Then: "The throne has awakened." Blue energy exploded from the crystal throne. The entire room glowed.

He chuckled. “Thought you choose the design,” he said. “I did, but the trolls decided to spice it up,‘’ I said. Silver throne is shaped like a wolf. I chose the design, and the trolls did as I said, but they made the wolf look vicious and not to talk about using pure gold to design it. The worst part is they decorated it with gemstones. Trolls are great at designing thrones and crowns. That is basically what they do and you can’t even imagine how expensive his throne is. Anybody who gets this throne is forever going to be rich, so that is why it’s enchanted. If anybody tries to steal it, I can only imagine what will happen to them.

That one. Lyra looked at it. The throne was made of darkness and stars. Its arms were carved from what looked like the bones of dead universes. But there was something else. A small mark. A crescent. Lyra recognized it immediately. That was her mark. She walked toward the throne. Kael grabbed her hand. Don't go alone. Lyra looked at him. I won't. She turned toward her children. They followed. All of them. The throne suddenly reacted.

I looked at him with something close to pity. "Does it matter whether I deserve it or not? Just remember this—no matter how hard you try, you can't take what isn't yours." "I'll kill you! I swear I'll kill you!" He lunged for my throat. But before he could reach me, Estelle came out of nowhere and grabbed him. "Calm down." "How am I supposed to calm down? This bastard is trying to steal my whole life!" Estelle soothed him for a moment, then turned to me with a pleading look.

Aiden whispered, his voice suddenly sounding older, layered with a strange, echoey resonance. Nyx exchanged a sharp, worried look with Kael. "The thrones. The vision he had." Before Kael could answer, the heavy oak doors of the pantry burst open. Morwen and King Aldric stood there, winded from sprinting down from the subterranean library. "We need the boy," Morwen said breathlessly, her face pale. "The stone tablet in the archive just shattered. The First Throne has broken through the surface at the edge of the dead zone, and it's calling directly to his magic."

Through my fading vision, men in black suits poured from the cabins and dropped to one knee in the sand in perfect unison. "Welcome home, Principessa." A man ran toward me and pulled me into his arms. His voice was shaking. "Little sister, your brother's taking you home. "No one will ever hurt you again." I closed my eyes. "Leon... one hundred debts. "We're done. "And we will never meet again."

Nora picked up the folded paper. She didn't open it. She held it. "You want the throne," she said. "Yes." "And you want me to trust you." "Yes." "Those two things are going to conflict at some point." "Probably," he said. "When they do, I'll tell you." He held her gaze without wavering. "I want the throne through legitimate succession. If Caspian fulfills the anchor requirement and succeeds, the succession is his by right and I'll accept that." He paused. "What I won't accept is the succession being built on an arrangement that's being managed dishonestly. But then. if the anchor is being kept in the dark about the terms of her own arrangement

But older, simpler, and stronger. Lyra stepped forward, horrified. “Princess, wait—” The glyph snapped into place, and the chamber answered. Stone shuddered. The air cracked. Light flared. A voice—vast, deep, and layered—filled the cavern. —At last. —A conqueror worthy of the First Throne. Kael’s sword was out. Selene grabbed his arm. “Too late.” The glyph projected a shape, not a man, not a creature, but a throne.

The throne was built on the ashes of the seven humans who initiated the war and the skull of their leader mounted on top, a reminder of what's to come if the humans try to go to war with them again. Walking up to the throne, I pause and look at it, a remainder of all the responsibilities I had on my shoulders, the weight of the world. My crown rested on the armrest, gleaming under the sunlight filtering in from the windows, the crown has 10 gems, each representing a pack. With a sigh I sat on the throne and waited for the arrival of the humans as they were led in. Lyra walks in not long after offering me a curt nod then taking her sit in one of the four chairs in front of me.
