Amara & The Hidden World

Amara & The Hidden World

I am fuming. The refugees arrive shortly after that. There are 10 of them this time, including a rogue wolf. We welcome them, and I am trying to be as positive and cheerful as I can be, but it’s not really working. There was even a tiny baby among them. It feels good to be helping them. Once the day is wrapped up and everyone is settled, I head back home. I have barely eaten anything, trying to keep my stomach empty so the nausea wouldn’t betray me around other people.

Blood Moon Twin Lovers

Blood Moon Twin Lovers

Amidst the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic world, the refugee shelter stood as a beacon of hope and perseverance. It was a testament to the indomitable human spirit, and within its confines, life surged, thrived, and adapted. A chaotic blend of noises—the hum of conversations, the laughter of children playing, the shuffling of feet—all contributed to a symphony of survival and resilience.

Despised But Desired by the Ruthless Alphas.

Despised But Desired by the Ruthless Alphas.

Damien and I watch from the upper floor as the stretchers arrive. Warriors are carried in on them, blood soaking their uniforms and smeared on their faces as their lips let out pain-filled sounds. Refugees trickle in too. Women and pups from the outpost towns and villages. Scared, wide-eyed, and crying as they clutch what little they could carry in small bags. Bits of conversation float in from below and my heart breaks as I listen to them. "The rogues appeared as if from thin air," one of the warriors says, wheezing as he clutches at the gash in his side.

Cthulhu Mythos In Cultivation World

Cthulhu Mythos In Cultivation World

Zhu Wushang and The Black Merchant who landed at the outside perimeter and walked in the desert toward the wall of Alexandria saw many refugees who are trying their hardest to survive by helping the volunteer and the officer from inside the wall to do odd jobs for them in exchange for food and medicine. The duo walked past the refugee camp and saw many refugees gathered together and selling many things they had acquired during their travels. Many refugees and even some of the volunteers and officers are trading with them using the currency that seems to be the new currency of this new era. Accidentally Marked By The Lycan King

Accidentally Marked By The Lycan King

Crescent energy rippled beneath my skin, subdued but alert, like a blade half-drawn. That was when I saw them. They stood just beyond the outer perimeter: five figures huddled together, cloaks torn and muddied, shoulders slumped in practiced exhaustion. Refugees. Omegas, by the look of them. One woman leaned heavily against a man’s side, her face pale, her steps uneven. Another clutched a child to his chest, head bowed low. My heart tightened. Refugees weren’t uncommon anymore. With packs displaced by rogue attacks, borders collapsing under fear and bloodshed, it had become the new normal. Midnight Pack had taken in several already, quietly, carefully.

Her True Mate

Her True Mate

Lucas P.O.V. ‘Cian?’ I open the link, including Mirage in it this time so he knows she is with me. ‘Lulu, I know I’ve kind of abandoned you right now, but damn. Do you miss me that much?’ He links back and Mirage snorts behind me as we slowly walk towards the bridge to the shabby camp. ‘We’re going to have more refugees coming your way - women and children. Some of them are not going to be as friendly minded as the rest.’

Accidental Surrogate for Alpha

Accidental Surrogate for Alpha

Still I have plenty of time to sort out those issues – now my full focus is on the refugees. I arrive at the airfield just as a flight full of new exiles from the continent lands, and I watch in horror and heartache as they disembark the plane. From the looks of it, this is the largest group to arrive so far, and they’re mostly women and children. We’re losing more and more male wolves to this war, the ones who stay behind to fight or die protecting their families. I help the Vanaran volunteers usher the group into the camp, taking a screaming infant from one of the guards who led the group out of Damon’s brutal empire.

I love this book! I hate that chapters are barely two pages and at this rate I’m probably not going to see the end. For the cost at this rate I could have bought quite a number in physical form. As I have so far spent just under of $100 this is most likely my last Good Novel purchase.

Ruin Me, Alpha: Breaking The Enemy's Daughter

Ruin Me, Alpha: Breaking The Enemy's Daughter

He barked orders, positioning his men in defensive formations. Then I saw them. Not an army. Not monsters. Just people. A group of bedraggled figures emerged from the forest, men, women, children. Their clothes were torn, faces gaunt with hunger. Refugees. "Please!" A woman stumbled forward, falling to her knees. A small child clung to her skirts, no more than five or six years old. "Please, we mean no harm. We just need food. Water. Anything." Ares approached slowly, his sword still drawn. "Where are you from?"

Not anymore. Bev had been right. He didn’t understand anything beyond his own experience. Even though his own family had been plagued by financial difficulties, it was nothing compared to what others had gone through. Charles wore sweatpants and a T-shirt as he walked into Refuge. A woman sitting behind a reception desk looked up from her computer. “Can I help you?”
