"Give them time." The words weren't dramatic. That was what made them land. Rhea spoke next from beside Mara. "Lena came here terrified," she said softly. "Now she's helping in the healing quarters. People change when they're given the chance to." At the far end of the room, Elara – the refugee leader – stood slowly. She bowed her head respectfully. "We don't want to be a problem. Tell us what to do, and we'll do it." No pride. No defensiveness. Just exhaustion.

Ezra whispered as he stood close enough. “Do you need anything?” He asked in a calm voice, pulling Ezra closer and ignoring the stares of the Alphas that watched them. Ezra nodded, biting down on his lips with nervousness. Alpha Cage slowly lifted his hands, brushing his thumb against the underside of his lips and pulling it from between his teeth. “Tell me” he ordered and Ezra spoke. “I want to help the refugees” he kept his voice low enough that only Alpha Cage could hear. “Help them?” His eyes narrowed.

Hope asks. "Three new refugees arrived yesterday. They're fleeing persecution, definitely qualify for sanctuary. But they're from Blackfang. And Michelle Torres—one of our long-term residents who Raven tortured—is threatening to leave if we accept more Blackfang refugees. She says she's done her healing work, but she can't be in a territory with constant reminders of her trauma." Hope's instinct is to immediately tell Cameron what to do. But she's not alpha anymore. Cameron is. "What do you think you should do?" Hope asks instead.

Over time, I crossed borders into more than five countries, never staying so long in one place. Men wanted to rape me and women I soon realized they would do anything to save themselves. So I stayed alone, that was until I met Charles Clavelen in a dark corridor. We didn't start off great, I intended to rob him, but instead, he offered me everything he had.

He had also just lost his home so I offered him a place to stay. He seemed like a nice kid so I didn't hesitate to take him in," Keane replied. "Did you know?" he asked, facing Keane. "Did you know that he was using?"

Cathy changed completely from that day on. She sent Zac to the strictest rehabilitation center known to man and cut off all his other options. Her heart stayed cold as she watched him cry, curse, and beg at her feet. She knew that even a shred of pity for him would be another betrayal of Harry. Qais said while looking at a livestream on the phone, “These streamers are so cringe.” “I cannot comprehend this level of hypocrisy,” the Maths teacher gave Qais a bombastic side-eye. “Papa, when will Mama come?” Farha asked. “Mama is with Suleiman,” Suleiman’s father answered, “They will meet us later.” They finally reached the bunkers, where long lines of refugees were slowly but steadily entering them. “Don’t push, don’t stop, just keep moving,” the police and soldiers kept repeating as they helped the refugees enter.
